Join Us April 21
Brooklyn STEM Academy invites the whole community for a Family STEAM Night April 21 from 5:30-7pm. Our Family STEAM Night is a free event for both adults and children. Come explore more than six hands-on stations involving science, technology, engineering, art and math sponsored by Duke Energy. Make sure to stop by the buy one get one book fair and complete your evening hoping for your name to be drawn with prizes provided by Brooklyn's PTO.

We still need parents who are willing to serve as the secretary or treasurer of the PTO for the 22-23 school year. Voting will take place during the PTO meeting on Wednesday, May 4th at 6:00 PM via Zoom.

Book Fair
The Buy One Get One Free Book Fair will run April 18-22 in the Brooklyn STEM Library with special hours during STEM Night! The focus of this event is to get books into the hands of children at an affordable cost.
Title 1 Spring Workshop
Hop into Reading and join us for our Spring Title 1 workshop on April 21st, 2022. This workshop will be in the Title 1 room during Brooklyn’s Family STEAM Night. Stop by between 5:30-6:30 to learn an interactive way to practice reading and math.
Art Show
The MSD of Martinsville is proud to present its annual Fine Arts Show at the Art Sanctuary in Martinsville (190 North Sycamore, Martinsville). This show is free and open to the public. Opening night is on Friday, April 8 from 5-9 PM. Refreshments will be provided by the Martinsville Arts Council. The show is also open on Saturday, April 9 from 12-4 PM.
ILEARN
ILEARN testing for 3rd and 4th grade students begins April 18 and runs through May 13. Good attendance is very important during this testing window. Please avoid scheduling appointments during this time.

School Wide Title 1
Funding has been made available through School Wide Title 1 Services to Brooklyn Elementary for the purpose of providing students with extra support in reading/language arts and math. This extra support is available for all students at Brooklyn Elementary. Classroom teachers, Title 1 Teachers and instructional aides provide assistance through small group and individualized instruction as children demonstrate a need for support. Please contact your teacher about services your child may receive.
