Lixon Nelson, Executive Director, ACES Miami
Lixon grew up in a socially and economically challenging environment while living with a developmental disability and experienced countless trials and triumphs. Lixon believes persons with disabilities are not unemployable; they simply lack the employment skills necessary to make them competitive within the workforce. ACES, Inc was the fruit of Lixon's experience. Alizee St-Louis, Painter
Alizee St-Louis is a self-taught artist with an Autism diagnosis. She graduated from Bluffton High School in South Carolina and started painting shortly after. Alizee uses her art to help her alleviate frustrations that come with sensory challenges. Alizee will inspire you and others on the spectrum with her beautiful art. www.kayalistudio.com
Elcana Jean-Pierre, MSW
Elcana Jean-Pierre is a Haitian-born graduate with Cerebral Palsy. She migrated from Haiti to Miami. Throughout her school years, Elcana struggled with bullying … but she had her eyes set on a career in social work. Elcana began school at the age of 12. Elcana graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in social work last August 4th, 2014 with more than a handful of accomplishments on her belt. In 2021, Elcana completed her Master degree in Social Work from FIU and continues to share her determination with families. Today, she is a Consultant with the Advocacy Network in Miami and provides support, education and guidance to families with children with disabilities.
