Message from Mrs. Best
We have a fun week coming up. Please see the information below on Halloween activities. It is important that you take special care when sending students in costumes to either the Halloween Carnival or to our school festivities. We want to respect others while still having fun. If you have questions about your students costumes please feel free to call the office and we can answer any questions you may have. Have a great week and please reach out to us anytime.
We highly encourage masks when attending the Halloween Carnival. We will be following the Big 5. Hand sanitizer will be available, we encourage staying together with family groups and avoiding larger gatherings, meaning if an area looks to be too crowded, please attend another area and try back or distance as much as you can. We do ask if you are having any Covid symptoms that you stay home. Thank you
Reminder: Early out Wednesday and Thursday and No school Friday.

Halloween Costumes
No masks are allowed for safety reasons.
Be aware of cultural appropriation when choosing a costume. Cultural appropriation would be "taking elements of someone else's culture". We want to be sensitive to all cultures including items that a culture may find spiritual or sensitive. If you have questions please feel free to call the school and we would be happy to help provide guidance. Students who attend in a costume that falls under one of the above mentioned categories will either be asked to remove a portion of their costume if possible, or they will call home for a change if needed.
- Be respectful: Avoid stereotypes, racially insensitive, or culturally inappropriate costumes.
- Be responsible: Recognize that students in a wide age range will see the costumes. Costumes should not be gory or threatening.
- Be safe: No hand-held accessories, like wands or weapons. Worn items, like a crown, are okay.
- Be kind: Costumes should be fun and exciting, not political or offensive.
Your help in following these protocols will ensure that our students have a safe and fun Halloween.
