Little Elm High School
Weekly Newsletter - September 4th, 2015
"INFORMATION" AND "COMMUNICATION"
As Lobos we value open, transparent, and timely communication. As a campus LEHS is looking for more ways to reach out and communicate the great things that are happening in the classroom, on the field, and in our community. We hope you enjoy all of the information in our weekly newsletter but we are also communicating through Facebook and Twitter. Please visit and like our Facebook page by clicking HERE and follow us on Twitter by clicking HERE . One upcoming event that we hope everyone can attend is our fall curriculum night on Tuesday, September 15th from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM. This will be an opportunity for us to showcase our academic programs. We hope you will come out and see what your students have been learning. Also on this evening our College & Career Advisor will be hosting a senior parent information meeting from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM in the LEHS auditorium. If you have a senior, this meeting will provide you with critical information about planning for your student’s post-secondary success. In the words of Sydney Harris “The two words information and communication are often used interchangeably, but they signify quite different things. Information is giving out; communication is getting through." We hope our communication whether it is through our website, marquee, phone messenger, email, newsletter, Facebook, or Twitter is getting through. We truly want to partner with you to make LEHS and LEISD “THE Destination District” (and high school).

The Little Elm High School college fair, sponsored by DECA, will take place Wednesday September 16th from 9:15 am to 11:15 am. We already have almost 100 college recruiters signed up to join us that day. All Juniors and Seniors will be released from classes to visit with the various college and military recruiters. Parents who wish to join us may enter through the front office area to check in. Please encourage your Junior or Senior to start thinking about which schools they want to learn more about.
Little Elm High School offers several different programs to facilitate student learning in the community. These include earning class room credit for paid employment and for unpaid internships (especially health care related). If you are a Little Elm area employer please consider working with our Little Elm High School students. Any students placed through our coop or intern programs will receive industry specific training and oversight from a teacher. E-mail Rodger Hutley, Marketing Teacher at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.

THE TEACHER FEATURE
A metroplex native, Ms. Wallace attended high school in Grapevine and college at both Collin College and the University of North Texas. This is her first year of teaching, however, last year she was a full-time substitute with Keller ISD where she worked with students from 5th grade to 12th grade. Before working in Keller, she was also a substitute with Krum ISD. She loves reading, giraffes, her cat, Greeley, and spending time with loved ones.
"I truly feel like I have found my home with LEHS, and I could not be more excited for the upcoming year!"
ALL THINGS YEARBOOK!
Prestige will be on campus Sep. 24 for make-up pictures, however, time is limited and students who are photographed during this make-up session will not be able to choose which shot goes in the yearbook. Additionally, students who wait for the make-up day may not have a cap/gown picture taken.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about senior yearbook photographs.
The LEHS yearbook program is on Twitter!!! Follow us @leb16deal and tag your friends at school events (#lehsbigdeal), and your pictures may be used in this year's book!
