Academic Achievement- We hope everyone makes academic achievement part of their new year resolution. If students made honor roll last quarter, we want them to make it again this quarter. Honor roll is all A's and B's and no more than one C. We also want students to reach higher by improving all C grades to A or B. At the end of this quarter, we will have an ABC celebration. We will give T-shirts to all students that make honor roll. We will also give a special gift to all students that make all A's. You can do it Wildcats!
Connect-Ed calls for Absences- Connect Ed calls will be made for students marked absent in any class. The calls will be made at 2:00pm daily. To inform us of absences, please complete the WOMS Live Virtual Lesson Absence Form.
Community Service Hours- Students that have completed community service hours can send them to Ms. Fitts. She will work with families to gather logs from last semester. Please email her at Kim.L.Fitts@MCPSMD.NET
Zoom Community Expectations- As we are eager to with build and establish virtual communities, teachers really want and need to see students with cameras on. All students need to have their cameras on when entering a Zoom session. Once they are in the sessions, teachers will work with students if there are concerns about keeping the cameras on for the duration of each class. Although teachers will work with students to be a little flexible, there are times that students will be required to have cameras on such as in entering a Zoom session ; during assessments; and for certain assignments. Students may not use avatars at any time. Students can have pictures of themselves, their names, but no avatars.
Technology- Students with Chromebooks issues can send emails to Peter.V.Crable@MCPSMD.Net or Terrell.A.Zimmerman@MCPSMD.Net. Los estudiantes con problemas con Chromebooks pueden enviar un correo electrónico a Peter.V.Crable@MCPSMD.Net o a Terrell.A.Zimmerman@MCPSMD.Net.

NEW OPTIONS FOR SCHEDULES: ABBREVIATED SCHEDULES AVAILABLE- CREDIT/NO CREDIT AVAILABLE
In response to feedback to MCPS about virtual learning adjustments have been made to improve the student/teacher experience in virtual learning, promote student well-being, and provide flexible options for student schedules.
Schedule adjustments are now available for the second semester to:
- Abbreviated Schedule: Request an abbreviated schedule to lighten course load and take a course over the summer or in future semesters instead.
- Credit/No Credit: Take up to two courses Credit/No Credit (also known as Pass/Fail) (instead of a letter grade, in courses not specifically required for graduation. Students/parents/guardians will have until the beginning of the fourth marking period to make the decision about Credit/No Credit or withdraw from a course, without notation on the transcript, extended from the 25th day of the semester).
- 1st Semester Credit/No Credit: Students/parents/guardians will be permitted to retroactively apply the Credit/No Credit option to courses taken during the first semester of the 2020-21 school year. (While systems and processes are in development, students/parents are being advised to wait to make any requests until at least February 16, 2021 after report cards are received.)
For more information, please contact your student's counselor or grade level administrator.
