What should my child bring to school?

As always, our school will provide the necessary supplies your child will need for learning. Parents are welcome to send students with their own supplies, however, this is not a requirement.

Here is a list of items that students should bring to school:

  • Labelled water bottle (water fountains will not be open but students can use the filling stations) and lunch bag with lots of snacks (Our Cafeteria Servery is closed)
  • Masks are optional for staff and students. We respect everyone's decision on this.
  • Hand sanitizer is provided in each classroom and at each door, but students may like their own. Please avoid fragrant sanitizers.
  • Pencil case (You may want your personal pencils/pens, eraser, crayons/pencil crayons, scissors, ruler, calculator for older grades etc.) We will have school supplies for individual use in classrooms.

Your child's classroom teacher (Grade 7 & 8 students were already sent a recommended list) may have some additional suggestions.

What if my child has a prevalent medical condition?

This tab is intended for those families who have children with a prevalent medical condition and who have not yet submitted paperwork to the school for their plan of care. Please click below to access the paperwork appropriate for your child's needs, including the administration of daily medication given at school.

PREVALENT MEDICAL CONDITIONS

If you have NOT completed paperwork for your child for a medical condition that staff need to be aware of, please complete and return ASAP

What Are the safety measures in place for COVID-19?

For the 2022-23 school year, schools will:

  • Continue to provide free high-quality masks for students and staff, as well as eye protection for staff, if they choose to use them.
  • Encourage students on appropriate hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette (for example, washing hands or coughing into your sleeve)
  • Have hand sanitizer available at key locations throughout the school
  • Have mental health services and supports available for students
  • Will continue to have access to rapid antigen tests that can be used if needed, and used in accordance with provincial testing guidance
  • Will continue to have enhanced cleaning practices. This includes cleaning high-touch surfaces, like eating areas, washrooms, doorknobs, and desks
  • Will continue use of HEPA ventilation units in areas without full mechanical ventilation and/or without MERV-13 filtration.
  • Will continue maximization of fresh-air intake into all buildings, and the running of ventilation units beyond the time buildings are occupied.
  • Until further notice, all students of the Limestone District School Board will be expected to complete the LDSB COVID-19 Daily Screening Confirmation Form before attending school
