From Mrs. Hubbard, Principal
Staff members at Governor Winslow School are so grateful for the gift of our students, and we work extremely hard on keeping them safe and happy in our learning environment. We regularly review behavior expectations, and recognize the many times our students exceed those expectations. Our positive reinforcement system is called Winslow's Spot. Staff members help Winslow, our PeaceBuilder Bear, to spot kind behaviors. When a student is spotted going above and beyond to show kindness, staff members reward them with a Spot Card. Classrooms collect Spot Cards to build a sense of community, and when GWS earns 500 spots collectively, there will be a school-wide reward. As of today, our students have earned enough spot cards to have a mismatch spirit day on Friday, February 16. We invite our families to support us by celebrating your children when they are caught being kind!
Congratulations to our newly elected PeaceLeaders!

Taking A Closer Look At Anxiety
Anxiety is increasing among school aged children and often goes misunderstood or unnoticed. It can impact a student’s ability to perform optimally in the school and community environment. To support students with anxiety, we need to understand it ourselves. During this workshop you will learn about the different types of anxiety, how they impact a child’s performance and useful strategies to use and consider when raising a child with anxiety.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session and light refreshments.
* If you require an interpreter, please note it on your registration no later than 2/12/2024
