Mental Health Matters!

RVHS places a high priority on the mental health and well-being of students and staff. Your mental health influences how you think, feel, and behave in daily life. It also affects your ability to cope with stress, overcome challenges, build relationships, and recover from life's setbacks and hardships. We want our students to know it's okay to ask for help.

Health News!

Healthy Reminders from Nurse Redmond!

Now that we have a few weeks of school under our belt, we wanted to take a moment to remind students to use good hygiene practices to stay healthy, such as good handwashing especially before/after eating, whenever they touch their mouth/nose or eyes, and after using the bathroom. Covering coughs/sneezes with a tissue and staying well hydrated will help stop the spread of bacteria and viruses that cause illness. Lastly, as always, starting the day with a healthy breakfast gives the body energy to keep it healthy and the immune system functioning. Stay healthy Rondout!

Newcomer's Uplifted Field Trip to Tongore!

The annual Freshman Field Day at Tongore Park in Marbletown was filled with fun, food, and opportunities to get acquainted. Grade 9 students were divided up into groups and spent time learning more about each other. Groups were led by Peer Leaders who were selected last spring and underwent training prior to this event. After the ‘get-to-know-you’ session, the groups were matched up for some friendly competition in games like trivia, Pictionary, relays, variations of Rock Paper Scissors, and more. This was all part of the Newcomers Uplifted Program that will have these same groups reunite throughout the Fall semester with more activities and information to facilitate the transition to the high school!

Sticking with the Best in the Halls!

The Rondout Valley High School hallways are getting some love! Students in Intro to Art are working together on “Tape Mural” projects, which are blueprints for paintings that will be in the different wings throughout the building. We can’t wait to see the final products!

Get your Music Booster Card!

The Rondout Valley Music Department, in collaboration with the Rondout Valley Education Foundation, are currently hosting their annual discount card fundraiser! Discount cards are only $10 each, can be purchased online, and will be mailed to you upon receipt of payment. $9.50 of each $10.00 order goes directly to supporting our music students!!! Parents Needed!

Attention Rondout Valley High School families! The PTSA is back and is looking for parent volunteers to take on leadership roles. If you are interested, please reach out to Assistant Principal Ryan Judge at rjudge@rondout.k12.ny.us. Once there is leadership in place, we will share other ways to get involved!
