MATH: 6th and 7th Grades

Sonja Virden

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sonja Virden. This will be my first year teaching middle school. I have taught in Seminole ISD, Andrews ISD, and Leonard ISD. I have previously taught 2nd, 1st, and 5th grades. My husband Mike and I have been married for 29 years (in September) and been together for 31 years. We have two incredible daughters; Caitlin (27) and Hailey (23). We live in Leonard and have many pets. I love reading old cookbooks and listening to almost all types of music; from Rock 'n Roll to Country to Andrea Bocelli and some Classical music. I also LOVE to play Wooden Puzzle (app).

My Conference time is:

Monday through Friday at 9:42AM to 10:31AM.

Please do not hesitate to contact me to schedule an appointment to discuss your child's academic goals. I can also make arrangements to meet with you during a different time after school if my conference time conflicts with your schedule.

My email is:

PLEASE know that I am 100% dedicated to your child's success. We all learn at different paces and we are all better at some things than others. :)

Guaranteed to prove that there is nothing we do that does not involve math.

Q: Will my student have homework/enhancement every night?

A: Monday through Thursday your child will have the opportunity to get better at math skills each day. There will not be more than 10 homework/enhancement problems per day. This is EXTREMELY important, because if your child is not understanding or not practicing, they will have a difficult time on any test given.

Q: Can my child do extra credit?

A: If a student has participated and turned in homework assignments, then yes.

Q: Is tutoring available?

A: Letters will be sent home before tutoring sessions begin to give you the opportunity to sign-up.
