Spring Break - March 15th-19th
I hope that all of our families and staff use Spring Break as an opportunity to relax and recharge so we can finish this school year strong when we return. In light of the substantial COVID-19 case numbers in and around the state and nation, we ask that families of any student participating in face-to-face instruction be mindful of participating in higher risk activities or social gatherings during Spring Break. We urge parents to help students uphold mask-wearing and hygiene practices and to monitor their students for any symptoms before sending them back to school. We encourage all face-to-face students and families to visit the Lago Vista ISD website and review our Return-to-School plan for information about health and safety protocols. Please remember that no changes have been made to our Return-to-Learn plan in regards to face coverings.
Have a relaxing Spring Break Vikings and don't forget to "spring" forward this weekend!

Learning In Action
Counselor's Corner
Hello LVES Families!
In our guidance classes this month we are learning about the character trait of Trustworthiness and showing honesty. It is important that children understand the connection between how being honest builds trust. When children learn that if they tell the truth, admit when they do something wrong, and make good choices, they should also learn that they can be trustworthy. At home, it is also important to help your child understand who it is safe to trust in their family and community. Children should always be able to trust their parents or guardians. We should listen to them when they need to talk, and show them they can trust us.
Hope you all have a wonderful Spring Break!
“If you don’t listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won’t tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.” ~C.M. Wallace
“We learned about honesty and integrity - that the truth matters... that you don't take shortcuts or play by your own set of rules... and success doesn't count unless you earn it fair and square.” ~Michelle Obama
~Michelle Obama

New CDC Guidelines for Fully Vaccinated Persons
Now that vaccinations for Covid are more available, it's good to know how they affect your need to quarantine if exposed to Covid.
People who are fully vaccinated (2 weeks after their last dose in the series) do not need to quarantine after a close contact.
Unlike people who have only a 90 day window of immunity after testing positive, fully vaccinated people are not limited to 90 days.
As it is still early in our vaccination experience, the CDC will continue to evaluate how long the protection lasts, but for now, it is considered ongoing!
Click here for the full guidelines.
