The Nurse

Romeo + Juliet

People should focus on the person in their life who they can trust and knows they are always there for them.

Act 1 Scene 5

In "Romeo and Juliet" The nurse plays a huge role when it comes to hooking Juliet up with Romeo. "Go ask his name.-If he be married, my grave is like to be my wedding bed.... His name is Romeo and a Montague, the only son of your great enemy" (pg1018lines150-153). In this scene the Nurse talks to Romeo for Juliet and gets his information. This clearly shows Juliet can trust the Nurse to do her favors right. Juliet also believes she is falling in love and she only wants the nurse to know.

Act 3 Scene 5

When it comes to making important decisions Juliet always goes to the Nurse for answers. "marry I will; and this is wisely done" (pg1070). The Nurse is voice of reason for Juliet, Juliet does not want to marry Paris because she loves Romeo. then the Nurse gives Juliet advice and says that she should do whats right and marry Paris.

Act 2 Scene 5

The Nurse is a trusted person to Juliet. "O god's lady dear! Are you so hot? Marry come up trow" (pg1039). Yet again this shows how dependent and trust-worthy the Nurse is to Juliet, she is one of the only people that knows about the wedding.

Act 3 Scene 5

The Nurse though cannot always go along with Juliet, when she knows she is too deep she will pull out of a plan. "And why, my lady of wisdom? Hold your tounge.... I speak no treason" (1068). Although the Nurse is loyal to Juliet she still works under Lady Capulet and she knows she needs to do the right the thing even there is a lot on the line.
