UCSD Women in Computing Girls' Day Out
UCSD Women in Computing's annual Girls' Day Out will be held on Saturday, May 13th from 9:30am-2:30pm. The event is for high school female students interested in pursuing computer science or similar STEM-oriented fields. Participants will have the opportunity to hear professors and industry panelists present, and also learn some skills in a programming workshop.
50 girls will be accepted to the event on a first come, first serve basis. To sign up, click on the link below:

Summer Programs
Palomar College Summer Academies
Palomar College will be hosting it's first ever Summer Academies program this summer. The Summer Academies are special summer experiences that help high school students explore career pathways, get hands-on experiences in college-level courses, and get a head start on their college career. Classes are purposefully coupled to meet needed transfer requirements to CSUs and UCs. Space is limited, and transportation to campus is available. Enrollment begins May 1st! Future Latino Leaders Program
This summer, the Future Latino Leaders Program will be offering a 9-day leadership program, The Future Latino Leaders Law Camp, for high school students in Washington DC. Applicants for this program should be Latino, and interested in pursuing a career in law. This program is free after the application process (application fees can be waived based on need).

Volunteer Opportunities
Touch A Truck
On Saturday, May 13th, the Touch A Truck event, a car show fundraising to benefit fighting childhood cancer, needs volunteers who are 15 years old and older. Volunteers are needed for different jobs and time slots from 6:45am-5:00pm on the day of the event. To sign up or find more information about the event, click on the link below.
Scholarship Information
Beverly Yip Fund
Deadline: May 5. Applicants must be seniors planning to enroll in postsecondary education, have demonstrated financial need, academic and leadership ability or community involvement, and be of Asian, Pacific Island descent or refugee status.
Rancho Penasquitos Little League
Deadline: May 6. Applicants must be graduating seniors entering college in the fall, and have played a minimum of 2 years of league play in the Rancho Penasquitos Little League (does not have to be consecutive).
San Diego North Rotary Club Awards
Deadline: May 9. Applicants must be graduating seniors who plan on attending a 4-year college, vocational school, or community college after graduation, have financial need, and have outstanding school or community leadership demonstrated.
Westview PTSA Senior
Deadline: May 10. Applicants must be graduating in the class of 2017, planning to pursue either a 2-year or 4-year degree in the fall of 2017, and must be a PTSA member (activated prior to March 31, 2017).
PowPac Elden Davisson Memorial
Deadline: May 15. Applicants must be graduating seniors and have participated in some aspect of theater (performing, directing, tech, designing, costuming, writing, etc.).
Brower Youth Awards
Deadline: May 15. Applicants must be 13-22 years old and involved in activities and causes related to environmental protection.
Filipino-American Cultural Organization
Deadline: May 22. Applicants must be graduating seniors, of Filipino-American ancestry, planning on attending college, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and have participated in community service or planning to do so as soon as possible.
B. Davis
Deadline: May 22. Applicants must be juniors or seniors.
Building Industry Assocation
Deadline: May 26. Applicants must be graduating seniors and planning on pursuing a career related to the residential and commercial building/development industry.

Event Information
Prom
With great excitement, the junior class is proud to present Prom 2017- "Enchanted". The evening will feature SOS DJ Entertainment, photo opportunities, a live band, casino games, food and desserts. Guest passes are available in the finance office. Ticket prices start at $65 and will be $80 the week of prom.
It is our priority to provide a safe and enjoyable prom. One way we do so is by offering free round-trip transportation to students. If interested, please complete a transportation request sheet and trip permit and drop off in the finance office by May 13th.
