Blake Updates
December 31, 2017
Welcome Back
I hope you have enjoyed your winter break and I wish you a happy, healthy, and safe New Year!
When we return on Tuesday we will have just 17 days left in the first semester. This is the time to make sure that we are staying focused and on top of our grades. If you, or your student need support or have questions please feel free to contact their teachers, counselor, or grade level administrator. Our goal is to support each of our students and their families.
Mark your calendars. On January 16th our PTSA will be sponsoring an information session for all of our parents. Sargent Sanger of the Montgomery County Police Department will be talking with our parents about online safety and cyber bullying. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the media center.
If you drive your student to school please be sure to get them to school on time. First period starts promptly at 7:45 a.m. Please be sure to provide enough time for them to get to their first period class on time.
Have a great week!
SGA Winter Clothing Drive
The Blake High School Student Government Association (SGA) is holding a winter wear drive for charity during January. This project is also part of our day of service work! Items will be collected from January 2 until January 31st
Everyone has things in the back of their closets or chests that nobody wears anymore (hats, coats, gloves, etc.) why not donate them so we can get them to people who are truly in need. Our goal is to collect 1,600 new or gently used items. The items will then be donated to charities that will make sure they go directly to those who need them.
If every student brings in ONE item we’ll have about 1,600 items to donate to organizations that give items directly to people who need them (NOT RE-SELLERS).
