Sully's Salutations
Charity Fundraising Information and A Must Read Article!
December 13, 2015
Good afternoon,
I hope this newsletter finds everyone well, though a dreary day - these temperatures are quite enjoyable!
As we head into the last full week before Winter Break I want to add to last week's reminders and call your attention to a very important article on a new Smart Phone app.
Monday, December 14th - Friday, December 21st the Student Council is sponsoring a Grade level competition among the three grades. It is my understanding that the grade that brings in the most food items will start with 1 point in the Student/Faculty Floor Hockey Games! These games are always fun and this certainly will add to the excitement.
Wednesday, December 16th will be a Spirit Day sponsored by our friends of Rachel Club. I will send out a Blackboard ConnectEd message Tuesday as the Club is determining the kind of spirit Day it will be at their meeting on Monday afternoon.
I cannot thank these clubs enough for their leadership and passion for a good cause. They are emblematic of our student body at large and I am very proud of the students at ASMS. And as always thanks to the staff who guide and support them daily in their endeavors.
On a very serious note I have embedded a link to a recent Washington Post article on a new Smartphone App called After School. It is a new app and like Yik Yak allows students to post statements anonymously. Needless to say, this app is being misused. It has created many bullying like situations across the country in thousands of high schools and some middle schools. Please talk with your child and check his/her phone for this app., and any other inappropriate apps that he/she may have downloaded. This is a must read!
Two important PCC reminders below:
*PCC Announcements and Newsletter - If you are not receiving emails from the PCC and would like to, please email Lois Eppihimer at loisepp2@verizon.net with your child's name, grade and preferred email address.
* Luxe Hair & Make Up Studio in Medway Mention ASMS when you book an appointment this month and they will donate 10% of the proceeds of the service. This fundraiser is running the whole month.
Go Pats! Let's hope for a different outcome this week!
Warm wishes,
Beth Wittcoff
Principal
