Letter to Editor:

I have been living in Dardanelle, Arkansas ever since the agribusiness,Tyson, has brought their chickens along with undocumented immigrants. Through the pull factor of a job opportunity through relocation diffusion the migrants have settled into the region. Our city used to have its own identity and recently we have experience counter urbanization, where many migrants have come from urban cities and move to more rural locations, like Dardanelle, where these type of jobs are located. Many of these immigrants are beginning to bring their cultural identity and causing the idea of placelessness to begin. Unfortunately, with the net migration of immigrants it has brought many business that contribute to air pollution, by adding the smell of sulfur and other gases into the air. Also, we currently suffer from a language boundary that makes it difficult to communicate with the hispanic workers.
