Service As Action:

This is an opportunity for you to raise money for Kids' Company. Before break, we had a visit from Kids' Company. If you would like to help raise money for them, please see Ms Watson in the Drop in Clinic in the hub on Thursday.

Great New Books!

We have lots of great new books in The Hub. These include graphic novels, both fiction and non-fiction and a selection of books in different languages. Please come and select a book to take home, making sure to check out the book with Ms Dutton. We are having a school read-a-thon on Thursday for World Book Day, so please make sure you have a book to read for this.

Thursday 5 March: World Book Day Breakfast

This Thursday, bring in a vegetarian, literary-inspired breakfast dish.

Here are some suggestions based on last year's breakfast:

  • Butter Beer from Harry Potter
  • Fruity Oatmeal from Oliver Twist
  • Chocolate and Blueberry Muffins from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
  • Ichabod's "Slapjacks" from Legend of Sleepy Hollow

If you need a little more inspiration, check out this website or this Pinterest.

The Halcyon Book Club will be in the Stern Hall from 8:30am on Thursday to collect your goodies.

We will also spend the morning together as a whole school celebrating literacy. Please bring along a book to read on Thursday (in any language).
