STEAM U and Academic Labs
Students will attend STEAM U or Academic Labs during the school day. Depending on individual schedules, some students may have more than one of these sessions per day. During STEAM U, students will complete assigned modules that will cover various content areas such as science, math, humanities, and personal development; each module is grade level specific. Modules are designed to be completed in the first half of their 40 minute session, with the remaining 20 minutes open to student choice.
Academic Labs are assigned on an individual basis to help foster retention as well as growth in new skills in core subject areas. Labs will target specific areas of weakness as well as provide an opportunity for tutoring during the school day. Our Academic Labs will evolve as students master the designated content area that they are assigned to. Students may demonstrate their knowledge through academic assessments in order to be reassigned to STEAM U.
STEAM U and Academic Labs serve as purposeful ways to reach all of our students where they are, while providing targeted opportunities for academic growth.
