A brief list of sites too good to miss
Advice for Parents, from Common Sense Media
You probably already visit Commen Sense Media often for suggestions on age appropriate movies, but their Parent Concerns section is also a great resource to explore. The page filled with topical links leading to videos, arcticles, websites to help adults help students navigate the digital world.
Celebrating Black History Month Roundup, from JStor
The editors of the JStor Daily Blog have chosen a few of their favorite stories for Black History Month and compiled them in this great list. You'll find stories, which often link to scholarly articles, on Beyonce, blackness, women's studies, Reagan, and more.
#ColorOurCollections
Once again, libraries, archives, and other institutions from around the world have scoured their collections and created free coloring book pages for all to enjoy. Included in their Color Our Collections, selections are coloring books of Female Illustrators in Natural History, Chatauqua, NY, and anatomical drawings by Vesalius.
Overlooked from the New York Times
If you haven't been exploring the NY Times' project on remarkable men and women who never initially received obituaries in the Times, you have a lot to catch up on from the past year. Happily, though, they are continuing their project, and focused on black men and women for February. (But, no, the library does not have a digital subscription to this resource.)
