Fall Conferences and Early Release
Fall conferences will be held on our early release days, October 20-21. Please remember, October 20 is a digital learning day. Students will be dismissed October 21 at 12:15. This year, all conferences will be through a Zoom link. Parents can sign up Wednesday, October 6 through Friday, October 15. The link will be posted on our school webpage.
***Today is the last day for sign up.***
Digital Learning Day #2
- Students will work remotely from home. No Zoom instruction.
- If your student needs a Chromebook for this day, please complete this Request Form for each student.
- All assignments will be posted on their teacher's eCLASS pages by 8:00 am. This includes special areas (art, music, PE, and computer science).
- Assignments should take less than 2 hours to complete total for the day.
Lunches will be provided to students through curbside service at Mountain Park from 10:45-12:15. Buses will also be delivering meals along each of the bus routes. Buses should begin arriving at stops at 10:45.
Celebrating Birthdays at School
Parents are allowed to provide the class with individually wrapped snacks bought from a store (rice krispie treats, Little Debbie treats, cereal bars, etc.) for children’s birthdays. The ingredient label should be clearly visible. These snacks will be
provided to the students at an appropriate time as designated by the teacher. Please do not send drinks, treat bags, or balloons for birthdays. Parents should not make arrangements for private parties through the school staff, which includes passing out invitations.
Storybook Pumpkins
LET’S CELEBRATE READING BY DECORATING A PUMPKIN TO LOOK LIKE YOUR FAMILY'S FAVORITE STORYBOOK CHARACTER!
1. Choose a book your family likes and pick your favorite character!
2. Decorate an artificial pumpkin using paint, paper, glue, or any other craft item to represent your chosen character.
3. Download the form at the bottom of this letter, fill it out and bring it with your pumpkin.
4. Turn in by Wednesday, October 27th, so we can put them in our Media Center Pumpkin Patch!
WHEN SHOULD YOU START BRINGING YOUR PUMPKINS?
Bring your pumpkins to the Media Center from now until October 27th! On Friday, October 29th, a panel of teachers will vote for the first, second and third place winners in each grade level! Those winners will receive a $5 gift certificate to be used at the Spring Book Fair!!
Please email Mrs. Freeman with any questions! Diana.freeman@gcpsk12.org. Happy decorating!

School Nutrition Program
While breakfast and lunch will be provided at no charge for all GCPS in-person and digital students this school year, it still pays to complete the Free and Reduced-price Meal Application. Confirmed eligibility establishes a number of benefits for individual students such as free or discounted college-admissions tests, AP exams, and college applications; scholarship opportunities; and no- and low-cost access to technology and internet plans. In addition, the percentages of qualifying students at a school are used as a measure to secure additional federal funding (Title I) to support students and their education, promote family engagement, and provide additional technology and internet access. Title I funds pay for additional teachers, Parent Centers, additional learning opportunities for students, extra resources, added technology, and more.
