Hannah helps other students in class, does a great job on her work, and is a great leader.
ROWAN BROCK
Rowan is a wonderful student to have in class! He is the Student Council President, works hard in all of his classes, and he plays sports. He is a very well rounded student and always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needs help.
CANTON LIPHAM
Canton comes to class prepared to learn every day! She has a smile on her face and a great attitude.
JORDAN FLEMING
Jordan is an awesome young man. He comes to class ready to learn. He is enthusiastic, and a positive influence. He is always willing to help others.
LAINEY PARKER
Lainey has been nothing but outstanding since the first day of school. She puts her best foot forward and will not settle for anything less than best. I can always count on her to be a perfect example of what a bronco should look like.
KELLAN CHASE
Kellan has been an excellent and conscientious Science student from day one. He always works hard to give complete answers with fabulous explanations. Kellan is not only a great student but also a great person. He works well with his classmates, and takes time to explain when even one person isn’t understanding a concept. He is kind and a very hard worker
A HONOR ROLL FIRST SIX WEEKS
"ALICE IN WONDERLAND" PERFORMED BY BRONCO THESPIANS
This past Friday The Bronco Thespians performed their first show, "Alice in Wonderland" for the new theatre School of Choice program at BJH. The turn out was amazing with nearly 180 people in the audience of all ages! The actors and actresses performed magnificently and captivated even our youngest audience members who sat amazed in the front children's section. Ms. Cavazos would like to thank all of the people in the community who came out to support the show and our kids, without you it's just a rehearsal. She would also like to thank her cast and crew for the dedication and hard work you have put in, your efforts more than paid off. I am SO proud of you all!

PTA REFLECTIONS CONTEST
“Heroes Around Me” is the theme for the Reflections contest this year. The deadline for submissions is October 19.
There are many categories to submit entries to:
- Dance Choreography
- Film Production
- Video
- Literature
- Writing
- Music Composition
- Photography
- Visual Arts (2D Art)
- Special Artist Division
Participation Requirements:
The student or at least one person from their primary household must be a current member of the Local PTA/PTSA where the student is participating.
Entry Requirements: Each entry must be the original work of the participating student. Help from an adult or collaboration with other students is not allowed except in the Special Artist Division. Other individuals may appear in or perform a student’s work, but the work itself must be the creative product of one student only.

ACADEMIC PLANNING GUIDE DESIGN CONTEST
We are, once again, having a student contest to design the covers of our 2019/2020 Academic Planning Guides. The winner will have their name, school, and graduation year featured on the back of the chosen cover design.

Specifications for final design:
- Final Designs must be in .pdf format
- The official HEB ISD Logo should be somewhere in the design
- The designer’s name, school, and graduation year should appear somewhere in the design
- 300 dots per inch or 300 pixels per inch
- CMYK for 4 color processing
- No RGB or RGB photos in the document
- CMYK photos are acceptable
- Landscape orientation placed 17 “ wide by 11“tall.
- The design will be folded to create a front and back cover– stapled in the center.
- Do not be campus specific in their designs. This book is for HEB, not a particular campus. Both sides of the district need to be included if photos are being used.
- If you want color to extend all the way to the edges of the page, then add ¼ inch to the entire document making it 17 ¼” by 11 ¼”. (Extend color to the edges of the enlarged size, as 1/8 will be trimmed off all the way around.)
The deadline to submit designs is Friday, November 9th. Designs should be submitted to Carla Docken electronically. carladocken@hebisd.edu

Please use the link below to order a yearbook, baby ad or yearbook accessory. The $40 back to school price has been extended until Monday, October 15 at midnight. PSAT/NMSQT EXAMS ADMINISTERED OCTOBER 10TH
The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on Wednesday, OCT 10 AT BJH. The test is available for any 9th grader. The test must be purchased in the counseling office for $16. Parents can send cash or check.
Upon payment, each student will receive a study guide to prepare the student for the test. There are limited number of tests.

Please join us for parent programming on Talking to Your Child about Sexual Abuse on 10/09/18, Talking to Teens About Sexting and Cyberbullying on 10/11/18, and Talking to Teens About Dating Violence on 10/16. ATHLETIC RESULTS
9TH GRADE GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Congratulations to the 9th grade Lady Broncos for defeating Harwood last Friday night in two straight sets 25-14, 25-21.
Led by service pressure from Sydney Still, Christallyn Tate and Paige Looney the Bronco attack was solid and got another district win.
8TH GRADE GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Congratulations to the 8th grade A team that defeated North Oaks 20-25, 25-20, and 27-25.
McKinley Griffin led the team with outstanding serves and attacks. Maggie Lewis and Macey Mercer followed with awesome serves and sets. MaKyagh Morgan and Canton Lipham controlled the net.
Congratulations to the 8th Grade B Volleyball team, they defeated North Oaks 25-13 & 25-22.
Great service from Gracin Argo, Haylee Branham, & Maddox Vickers. Sophie Campbell's serves pulled us up from behind in set 2. Great ball control from Julia Loya and Carlii Summers!
7TH GRADE GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Once again the Broncos service pressure was consistent with Ashlyn Miller, Lainey Parker, Ashlynn Winborne, Ashlynn Lorenz and Natalie Vogt aggressively scoring points from the service line. Way to go Lady Broncos Volleyball!
The 7th grade girls B team volleyball was victorious against North Oaks Monday with scores of 25-16, 19-25, 25-18.
Leading scorers were Annabel Graham who had a running socre of 6 points to win the final match! Kylee Martin , Peyton Quinn, Mariah Preskinis, Kateliyn Glaze added to the leading scorers list. Congrats girls!
9TH GRADE FOOTBALL
The Bedford Freshmen A team lost a tough game Thursday night against a very talented Central Spartan team.
The Broncos kept fighting until the final horn and the coaching staff is very proud of the effort and never quit attitude of the boys. Offensively, the Broncos were led by QB Jake White who had multiple completions to Colby Nelson on the night. Nick Meyer, Walker Wolfe and Thomas Haak stood out with good performances on the offensively line. Nolan Cornish and Kristian Hardin ran tough all night and kept fighting for the extra yard. The Defensive standouts Andoni Del-Solar, Mark Ibarra and Evan Scherer. The Broncos look to get back on track next week against Richland High School.
8TH GRADE FOOTBALL
The 8th Grade football A team put on a dominating performance Tuesday afternoon with a big win against the North Oaks Mustangs with a score of 30 to 0.
The team pounded the mustangs with a strong rushing performance lead by Roderick Hale who scored 2 rushing touchdowns. Trey Wilson and Nicholas Payne also added several ground yards for the Bronco offense. Quarterback Brayden Jones also connected with Rex Small on a long passing touchdown to add to the Bronco total. Kicker Joshua Gullatt also kicked several field goals for the Bronco offensive attack. The defense lead by Montress Hardeman, Matthew McGrath and Amen Dickey put on a strong performance to keep the Mustangs off the score board. Jackson Blair and Johnny Wolfgramm each added in a sack to keep the pressure on the North Oaks offense. Hardeman and Dickey each had an interception to complete the Bronco defensive effort. The Broncos have a big match up next Tuesday against Central Junior High at Pennington Stadium. This matchup is for first place the HEB-Birdville Big 12 conference and all your support is needed. Good Job Broncos and we look forward to seeing you guys go back to work next week.
The 8th grade Bronco B team also pulled out a gritty victory against the North Oaks Mustangs with a final score of 16 to 6 Tuesday afternoon at North Oaks Middle School.
Evan Pomprenke lead the Bronco offensive attack with one rushing touchdown and one passing touchdown completion to Zach Hintemeyer. Quarateback Tanner Taylor connected with receiver Jack Baker to add to the Bronco offensive attack. The defense lead by Alexis Gonzalez, Zach Hall and Colby Paiboon played strong and sturdy all afternoon to limit the Mustang Offense. Tristan Pravong added an interception to seal the Bronco victory. The B team looks to keep the momentum going next Tuesday against Central Junior High. Great energy and effort guys and keep up the good work.
7TH GRADE FOOTBALL
The 7th grade football A and B teams continued their winning ways with two wins on Monday night in front of a great crowd at their first home games here at Bedford.
The A team overcame some adversity and pulled out a victory over North Oaks 14-7.
Kolbe fielder and Brayden Shives connected on multiple passes including one touchdown in the back of the end zone. Tristan Johnson ran hard all game and scored one rushing touchdown. Defensively the Broncos were led by Maliky Gonzalez, Jackson Schmidt, and John Marlow who all had multiple pass breakups and tackles. The Broncos will look to continue their great start next week when they take on a tough Central team at Central.
The B team dominated the gridiron once again defeating the North Oaks Mustangs 26-0.
The Broncos hit the gas pedal early and never looked back as Isaac Watkins took the opening kickoff to the house. Watkins scored again later in the game on another long run. Rocko Gonzalez and Dylan Roach showed off their speed taking short runs into the end zone. The defense was led by Luke Mirelas, Conner Skelly, and Tucker Jameison. Great job B team, keep up the good work!
HUSTLE AWARDS
LEAH BURTON
The 8/9th grade hustle award goes to Leah Burton this week. Leah is a quiet leader by example always giving 100% in a workout. She listens and implements everything the coaches give as feedback for improvement. Leah is an awesome runner and we are grateful to have her in our Athletics program.
TAYLOR COPEN
The 7th grade hustle award goes to Taylor Copen this week. She has worked her tail off from day one! Taylor is always competing at the top of the class. She takes competing very serious, in any workout we assign. She is constantly looking to improve and has done just that over the last 7 weeks! Way to be an awesome Lady Bronco Taylor!
