This and That
These were due to Valerie already. If you have not spent your money, you still can. Please work with Valerie on orders.
Science consumable materials should be ordered with your classroom budget.
One ream of card stock and extra lamination was ordered for fluency math games. Please consider what other items you need for this for your classroom.
Building Changes
This is hopefully an inclusive list, but if I left something/someone out, I'll update for next week.
- A trailer is coming to the lower parking lot. It will take up parking spaces. It will house ELL and Nikki Carel.
- The current ELL room will now be an additional resource classroom. We will welcome LeAnn Berendzen to Belair. She will split between Belair and West. She and Morgan will be side by side. This room can also be used to work with small groups or individual students.
- Toree is moving downstairs. She will be in the former workroom. This will no longer be a shared space.
- Lisa Prospt is moving to Toree's former space. She will now be closer to the grade level of students she serves the most.
- Katy Miles will be kindergarten in room 102.
- Missy Simpson will be first grade in room 103.
- Arynn Londrie will be second grade in room 108.
- Beth Hillis will be second grade in room 107.
Class Lists
These were shared today. Please respond with concerns, questions, clarifications. Lists will be rostered next week. Parents who register by May 22 will know their classroom teacher for the 2020-2021 school year.
As new students enroll, I will do my best to update you.
As students drop/move, I will do my best to update you.
Avoid reaching out to families until after August registration. If they contact you in June, be sure to mention that lists still could change if needed.
End of Year Parade
A few other schools are doing an end of year reverse parade. Students come and drive by the building, through the playground etc... Would we want to do this? Someone suggested we could blow bubbles as they drive by. May 28, 2020 from 5:00-6:00 ???
Updated Extended Closure Staff To-Dos
New items are BOLDED.
Be available Monday through Friday to families from 9:00-2:00, by phone, text, email.
1. Check in with all of your students. This can be through Google Classroom, Seesaw, or by making phone calls. The key is to keep in touch with students! If a student is not doing any work on iReady, Seesaw, Google Classroom, etc... and you are in contact with parents, great! If you cannot reach parents after multiple attempts, please let me know! I will check on them!
2. Plan for week 4 and beyond using the learning templates provided to you in an email on Thursday, April 2.
Add all that you can with electronic links. Anything you link or plan then must be included in a paper packet version for those families who wanted paper work sent home.
FINAL WEEK Week 9 - May 25- May 28 - to be ready in the office by Wednesday, May 20
Each packet will be mailed separately, if that is how the parents chose to get their work.
Your learning templates MUST be posted to your website for each week. If you need help, please reach out to myself, Nikki, or Jen!
Pictures below for where to have materials ready. Please follow the mailing guidelines sent out earlier this week. Valerie has posted them in the workroom as well.
3. Check iReady minutes/lessons passed. If families have not gotten on at this point, is it a technology issue? Reshare usernames/passwords if they need and offer assistance. You can assign lessons, or shut off domains depending on what you want your students working on. Need help? Check with Nikki!
4. Participate in a digital meeting with your grade level team, hosted by Nikki and Elizabeth. Invites have been shared out (this will be ONE time each week during the closure). If you can't make it to your meeting, please attend an alternate time.
5. All classroom teachers are to host a digital class meeting with your class at least once a week using Google Hangout. Non-classroom teachers will be assigned one-two classrooms to join in on their virtual class meeting. We need to keep our kids connected and ensure that they are safe!
6. Professional Growth Plans need to be finished up for the school year. You might not have the data you wanted/needed to finish up. Write a reflection with the data you do have (GRL, iReady, etc...). Save and submit. We will have virtual meetings to complete the process. DUE BY MAY 22!
7. Student materials - start thinking about your plan to pack them up. Bags are in classrooms as of 5/8/2020. Student pencils boxes, folders, binders, notebooks, and workbooks can/should be bagged up and tagged with student name. Place in your class line spot in the gym (think assemblies/morning gym). Think about student book boxes and getting book room books back to the correct places. DUE BY MAY 18!
8. End of Year Checkout Form - includes links for Student Information Sheet, Grade Level Inventory Sheet, and K-5 Building Purchased Resource Sheet. DUE BY MAY 28.
*** IEP Meetings will be scheduled. Teachers of those students will be required participants. Meetings will be conducted remotely, through Zoom, Google Hangout, etc...
Working in the Building
Please sign up to work in the building in shifts. I have scheduled it so that no more than 10 people will be in the building at the same time. Please follow the guidelines so we can all stay safe:
ALWAYS SIGN UP/IN FOR A TIME TO BE IN THE BUILDING USING THE SIGN UP DOCUMENT ABOVE.
1. Please use hand sanitizer before using any office or workroom equipment.
2. After using the copier or other equipment, please wipe the machine/ equipment off using the wipes provided next to the copier.
3. If you see someone else using the copier, please come back in a few minutes. Ask the person to text you when they are done.
4. Work in your own space! Many people have been using the office to assemble packets. Please take materials back to your space and then bring them back to the office when you are finished.
5. Try to follow the CDC recommendation of 6 feet while in the building. Avoid contact.
6. Do not bring other people into the building, unless they are helping with an essential task. No children are allowed in the building at this time.
7. When using common spaces, please wear a mask.
This will be especially important for when we are cleaning up/out classrooms.
