SHOW ME HOW TO TAKE EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE
2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Our minds are amazing. We can re-create scenes from our past, or we can create new scenes that have never existed. We can remember and "hear" in our mind words of comfort, kindness, or hate that were said twenty years before. We can also imagine words said that we fear could be spoken. We can choose to think thoughts of goodness and become peaceful and happy or we can choose to think thoughts of hate and bitterness and become distraught and unhappy. We can change our thoughts instantly simply by switching channels like a television. We can control every thought; we can change our attitude by changing our minds.
Choose to put a guard over your thoughts and your mouth. Satan uses your mind as his battleground. His demonic forces buffet you with thoughts of insecurity, failure, unfairness, hopelessness, and accusations against the knowledge of God. Pull down every stronghold using scriptures and speaking the truth. Cast down every imagination and every negative thought. Do not allow yourself to dwell on what might happen; what should have happened; or why something did not happen.
Philippians 4:8 instructs us to think good thoughts. As we control our thoughts, we will also control the emotional climate around us. When we give only good reports, our joy and contentment will increase.
Dear God, Teach me to be a good warrior using your weapons of truth and love to pull down every stronghold that tries to destroy relationships within my school, my home, my church and my spiritual walk. Help me to recognize the battle within my own mind, and give me the courage to reject the thoughts that seek to destroy my day.
