From The Principal Tony White.......
So, what does this mean for our Eagles? I would want our Eagles to know that this is science at work right in front of us. And more importantly that errors and then change are important parts of getting it right. For years, I've heard Mrs. Cribaro chant with her kindergarten classes, "When we think we're done...we've only just begun." Our Eagles have it ingrained in their minds early on that we can be proud of our efforts without having to feel like the outcome is final. Keep working until you completely understand what's in front of you.
We used to study history in Ages, then centuries, then decades, and now the world changes so quickly, it's hard to even study one year's events. The world moves quickly, so the "stuff" we teach may not always stand the test of time. However, kindness, positivity, work ethic, curiosity, and a growth mindset will never go out of style. If there's something that I hope our Eagles take with them out of these uncertain times, this is it. Their generation will be the one who makes our times more certain, and that's not to put a lot of weight on their shoulders - it's to put that weight on ours.
Have a wonderful weekend celebrating the legacy and impact of Dr. King, and we look forward to seeing all of our Eagles next Wednesday morning (after a very rare Tuesday school improvement day)! Enjoy your favorite people!
