February FSA News
Happy February!
Hello all! So, though the weather definitely doesn't feel like it, we are still smack in the middle of a Montana winter. I hope that you've been able to get outside and enjoy this beautifulness at least a little.
I have a couple reminders, thoughts, etc. I'd like to go over:
First, I'd like to take a second to remind EVERYONE that contact notes MUST BE IN DAP FORMAT! So Data, Assessment, Plan. There needs to be a D section, an A section, and a P section in the note.
Secondly, I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about what we should do for FSA Appreciation. I still have a little (I mean LITTLE) amount of money to do a laid back little dinner or something like that. Those functions are a good opportunity for us all to get to know one another, share stories, ideas about the job, commiserate, support, and enjoy what we do as a collective. I'd love to schedule something at a time that we all could attend, and have it be an event that we all WANT to attend. So, if you have any ideas, LET ME KNOW!
Lastly, I just wanted to check again to make sure that you all know that we have FREE ACCESS to Bridger Bowl lift tickets, equipment rentals, and lessons for FSAs and their kiddos! This is a HUGE FUN OPPORTUNITY for us, made possible by the efforts of Paul Neubaur, former FSA, and the Bridger Bowl Foundation. THANK YOU!
Bozeman Fish Hatchery
Go to the Fish Hatchery to look at and feed the fish. There is a great trout pond that provides some fun outdoor time and it is free! The fish hatchery is located up Bridger Canyon right across the entrance to the “M” Trail.

Drop in and see Brutus and the other bears with your FSA kiddos at the grizzly encounter for FREE thanks to Duncan, one of our new FSAs who volunteers there in his spare time. Thanks Duncan!

Paper Tigers
On Sunday, February 21st, there will be a free showing of Paper Tigers at 6pm at the Emerson Theater in Bozeman. I am counting it as an FSA training for which you will receive 2 hours of training credits. (Of which you need 4 for the year.)
Paper Tigers is an intimate look at a year in the life of the students of Lincoln High School, an alternative school that specializes in educating traumatized youth. Set in the rural town of Walla Walla, WA, the film examines the concept of Trauma Informed Communities - a movement that shows great promise in healing youth struggling with the dark legacy of Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACES).
If you wish to attend, please let me know ASAP! I already have people signed up, and I have tickets for them. I can get them for more people, I just need to know.
