FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK:
Greetings OIS Parents!
Can you believe that we are in the seventh week of school? Time is flying! Progress reports will be available on Monday in the students' Home Access Center (HAC). If you need assistance accessing the account to view your child's progress report, please reach out to us.
This past week we studied the life principle of Effort - Doing one's best in any endeavor. We talked about how sometimes we may attempt a task and not be successful the first time, but that we learn from our mistakes and apply good effort to become successful. We also discussed how many important people throughout history including inventors, musicians, and other famous people did not necessarily start out as successful as we know them now. Many of them had setbacks and failures that they had to overcome by applying good effort to their craft.
This week we will be featuring the life principle of flexibility - the ability to make adjustments or alter our plans. The ability to be flexible especially when working and interacting with others is an important skill and also has some of the same elements as patience! Some talking points about flexibility with your child could be how as adults we have to be flexible in working with coworkers, and even family members!
Our banner picture this week features some of our great PTO parents who helped out with snacks at our last staff meeting. We are so very appreciative of our PTO parents for all they do for OIS!
Have a great week!
Regards,
Paul LeBlanc
Principal
