Catholic Schools Week - SUNDAY, JAN. 31 - SATURDAY, FEB.6
WEEK EVENTS
SBS is Celebrating Catholic Schools Week!
The month of February is off to an exciting start and St. Bernard campus is in a celebratory mood! We kicked off Catholic Schools Week with an all-school Mass at 11 am on Sunday, January 31st and an Open House! All hands were on deck and we want to thank all those who worked, attended and volunteered this past weekend. It was a huge success!
The 2021 theme for National Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” The themes for each day are listed below:
Celebrate Catholic Schools Week Themes
1/31 Celebrating Your Parish
2/1 Celebrating Your Community
2/2 Celebrating Your Students
2/3 Celebrating the Nation
2/4 Celebrating Vocations
2/5 Celebrating Faculty, Staff and Volunteers
2/6 Celebrating Families
February is Black History Month
We also want to wish every single American an informed, powerful, and productive Black History Month. Black History is America’s history. We are stronger together. No national celebration of Black History Month would be complete without including these Catholic stories — or the countless stories of black Catholics left untold.

What is Adoration? What do I do? What do I bring?
Adoration is a moment of quiet prayer in front of Jesus, present in the Eucharist- the Holy Communion consecrated at Mass. You will see the Eucharist in a case, called a Monstrance, placed on the altar. This is a special moment of prayer between you and Jesus. He gives each of us a personal invitation to come be with Him! You can pray the Rosary, you can read the bible, and or bring a prayer booklet to pray. But it is most important that we take the time to talk with God and to listen to Him deeply in our hearts. Here is a short video about Eucharistic Adoration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txuaN5FXgW8
We hope many of you will be able to join us - for 15 minutes, for 30 minutes, or for an hour! The Church will be sanitized before and after our time of Adoration. Thank you for your prayers and commitment to making St. Bernard’s School a beautiful place for our young people!
God Bless,
The SBS Catholic Schools Week Committee
Friday: Celebrate Faculty, Staff and Volunteers
Our Unsung Heroes
"Amid all the pain and disruption, a year of coronavirus has given Americans a new respect for those working to keep daily life as normal as possible, from the frontline nurse to the Amazon delivery man. Near the top of this honor roll is an especially unsung hero: the Catholic-school teacher."
Our teachers and their fearless leader Mrs. Senecal at St. Bernard of Clairvaux fit this category perfectly. From online to in-person, from additional training to endless webinars, finding new technology and looking for creative ways to keep our students SAFE and LEARNING, they deserve all the applause and recognition this Friday, Feb. 5th of Catholic School's Week. If you would like to help celebrate them this Friday, please email your classroom Parent Bear for details.
