Online Safety

Are you concerned about what your student is doing online? So are we! We found a great online resource that has a ton of helpful information about how we can work together to protect our students!

National Online Safety

*We are working our way through this website as we speak! Please let us know if you find anything of concern. Thanks for your help!

What is going on in the classroom?

In our pursuit to increase student engagement and success, our staff is working to increase the variety of learning opportunities in the classroom. And it is WORKING! Students have reported that "teachers aren't teaching" anymore. When pressed further, they explain that teachers don't stand at the front and tell them what to write down (lecture). Students are participating in discussions, partner teaching, presentations, and so much more. They are being asked to apply their knowledge and dig deeper to its meaning. To help explain the benefits of these new teaching styles, please see the article linked below.

Explanation Effect: Why You Should Always Teach What You Learn

*If you have questions or concerns about a class, please reach out to the teacher for more information. We love building relationships and want to establish a strong bond between the school and home to support our students!

Flu or COVID-19 Time

As concerns continues to grow surrounding the spread of the coronavirus, please know that we are taking precautions to keep students and staff safe from this and all diseases. We are working with local health officials to make sure that our processes meet guidelines. As with all contagions, simple health precautions can be done by even the youngest of students to assist in preventing the spread of bacteria and viruses.

  • WASH HANDS with soap and water
  • Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze and go wash your hands
  • Don't touch your face and go wash your hands
  • Stay Healthy with plenty of sleep and nutritious food and go wash your hands
  • If you are sick, STAY AWAY from others to prevent the spread and go wash your hands

Please see the special note from Nurse Susie about keeping out TMS Students and Staff safe!
