Principal's Update

February 2021

From the Desk of Mrs. Ard

On behalf of our school staff, I would like to thank you for your continued support~especially for being so gracious when you get the dreaded “quarantined call”! Believe me, I do not like making those calls, but everyone has been so kind and understanding (which I GREATLY appreciate)!

February is a busy month which includes Dental Hygiene Month, Valentine’s Day, Presidents Day, and Fitness & Nutrition week. Also, your child’s teacher will be sending information about the Valentine’s Day party in each class. Remember, our schools will not accept deliveries to students or teachers on Valentine’s Day. Reminder, there will be NO SCHOOL on February 15th in observance of Presidents Day. On a good note, it’s only a few weeks until Spring~hang in there!

COVID-19/Virtual Learning

We are doing everything we can to keep the WPS open for in-person instruction. We are still cleaning and sanitizing, hand washing, and encouraging masks. We have noticed a few other bugs going around as well, so please speak to your children about the importance of hand washing as well.

When a student is quarantined, please remember all assignments will be on Schoology and completing the work will be the way we track attendance. If a student is out due to sickness, they will still have the number of days absent to make up work. Please do not make a student work at home if they are feeling sick. We would like for them to rest up and get better. We can help catch them up when feeling better.

Click below for a tutorial video on using Schoology. If you need help, please reach out to your child's teacher.
