Using Canvas for Parents and Students
Canvas is our virtual classroom. It holds class assignments, activities, quizzes, tests and more. If your child need to be quarantine, this is the daily resource for instruction.

The following are symptoms of COVID 19.
-Fever (100.4 or higher)
-New onset of moderate to severe headache
-Shortness of breath
-New cough
-Sore throat
-Vomiting
-Diarrhea
-New loss of sense of taste or smell
-Fatigue from an unknown cause
-Muscle or body aches from an unknown cause
If your child is experiencing one or more symptoms, they need to remain at home as well as all siblings. Please call Ridge Circle.
If your child is quarantining, they should be using their computer to access learning on the teacher's Canvas Page. Individual questions about classroom instruction can be directed to the classroom teacher.
Students who are quarantining, need to remain at home and not on school property.
If you are having your child tested in order to return to school, the district recognizes the
RT-PCR test only. (No rapid tests)

- U-46 will offer Shield Testing(for COVID 19) for all families interested.
- Testing will be conducted at Ridge Circle every week (starting the week of September 27)
- Students will be asked to spit in a tube

The U-46 Educational Foundation is proud to present an inaugural 5K fundraising race on Oct. 23rd in Bartlett. This new race is:
- Flat and fast
- USA Track & Field (USATF) certified
- Chip-timed
- Open to runners and walkers
- Good for U! And good for the 37,000 students in U-46!
The U-46 Educational Foundation creates opportunities that expand student learning and well-being in School District U-46, the second-largest school district in Illinois. Proceeds from this run fund innovative faculty and staff projects, as well as scholarships for college-bound seniors. By running or walking in the Run For U 46, you will be doing something good for you and for our students.
Superintendent Scholarship---No Cook Night
Our first no cook night will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. next Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the Chick-fil-A on Randall Road in Elgin. Your help in supporting these events to fundraise for the Superintendent's Scholarship which is managed by the U-46 Educational Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
The other competing restaurants will hold events as follows:
Tuesday, October 19 - Culver's on McLean (near Big Timber) in Elgin
Tuesday, November 2 - McDonalds on Larkin Avenue in Elgin
