Parents: Are you signing your student's planner?
At Tiffany Ridge, we have a goal for students to share their learning each night with you! Students write learning statements in their AVID binders every day and should be sharing this with you in the evenings. After they share, you should sign their planner on the signature spot to show that you and your child have talked about their learning. We are keeping track of how many days in a row we can all get our planners signed! Classes and grade levels will be earning fun opportunities as they reach their goals! Thank you parents for helping connect learning for our students!
Support Your Timberwolf "Shake It Up Dance-a-Thon"
What is it? Our Dance-A-Thon is a fun event to encourage students to lead a healthy, active lifestyle! We will celebrate with our 3rd Annual “Shake It Up for Tiffany Ridge Dance-A-Thon” on Tuesday, November 22nd! The Dance-A-Thon will also raise money to continue to fund teacher grant requests for classroom projects. Park Hill funds are only available to cover a small portion of the cost for these items. This fundraiser will allow 100% of the money raised to be used for our students.
Our goal is to have 100% participation, with at least ONE pledge per student!
The 3 classrooms that raise the most pledge money will earn a special celebration!
When is it? Our Dance-A-Thon fundraiser will be on Tuesday, November 22nd. Each class will dance for 60 minutes during their assigned times. Fundraiser envelopes will be sent home with students beginning on Tuesday, November 15th.
Who can participate? All students will participate in the Dance-A-Thon! Families are encouraged to participate and assist their children in collecting pledges from family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. Even if students are unable to collect pledges, they will still participate and enjoy the Dance-A-Thon!. We will play fun music and have some games too, such as Limbo, the Chicken Dance, the Macarena, and the Hokey Pokey!
How does it work? Students collect pledges prior to the Dance-A-Thon and record them on the pledge envelope, which will be sent home prior to the Dance-A-Thon event. Please be sure to collect the money when the pledge is made. All pledge envelopes and money are due in the office by Tuesday, November 22nd. The goal is to raise money for our school, participate in healthy behaviors and have some fun with our friends! Thanks for your help to make this a successful event!

What Exactly is Bullying?
Bullying is VERY serious and even against the law in the state of Missouri. Unfortunately, too often our students use the term ‘bullying’ for any conflict they have with another student. There are three very specific criteria that determine if something can be labeled as bullying or not. All students K-5 learned about what is and isn’t bullying during Counselor lessons in October. Take a look below at these TRUE or FALSE questions and see if YOU knew these differences.
Bullying is done by a person/group who is perceived to be more powerful than the other person/group.
- TRUE – For it to be bullying, the aggressor must be more powerful in some way such as smarter, bigger, older, more popular, etc.
- TRUE – For it to be bullying, it must be done with the intention to harm.
- FALSE – for it to be bullying it must be repeated. Something that happens once or twice can be someone being mean or rude, but not bullying.
- TRUE – Conflicts can happen frequently but involve people who have equal power.
- FALSE – It is important to stay calm and kind. Students are taught to use their assertive voice and tell the person to STOP, then they should always report to an adult. Bullying back is not the answer and may even get the child in trouble.
- FALSE – It is important for anyone who sees bullying happen to stand up for the person getting bullied and help them get out of the situation. Students are taught to be bystanders who stand up for each other. And they should always report what happened to a trusted adult.
If you have questions about bullying or want to discuss this article further, please reach out to Ms. Andes our school counselor either by email or phone.

What is an AMI (Alternate Method of Instruction) Day?
If there were to be a "snow" day this year, students would continue to learn from home by having an AMI day. As we approach the winter months, we want to share our school's plan for what learning will be on an AMI day.
The state allocated five AMI (alternative methods of instruction) distance learning days, which means that on bad weather days, all students will learn from home from 9 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. On the sixth bad-weather day, we will call a snow day, which would mean all students will not have school.
Dr. Rios will email ALL Tiffany Ridge Families at 8:00am to let them know that they will receive communication from their child's classroom teacher no later than 9:00 am. Your student's teacher will communicate learning plans for the day, including any times for online "teams" meetings and the specific learning plan for your students. For more information, see details at the link HERE.
November Curriculum Connections
Check out the linked Curriculum Connections below to see what our Timberwolves will be working on in each subject area during the month of November! We want to share the learning topics at all of the grade levels so that you are familiar with what topics and content are taught this month! Your child's teacher is always happy to provide more details should you have questions!

Those hours are listed here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508084fa4a72ba0fa7-volunteers Also you don't need to commit to an entire timeslot. Just work what you can. Students in the Park Hill School district can also take clothes home. If you have anything to donate, we accept clothing sizes 4T-Adult.
Our shopping hours are listed here https://www.parkhill.k12.mo.us/families/pta-clothing-center The address is 8009 N Atkins. It is a house with a blue bin in front next to the Gerner Family Early Education Center’s playground. Type in “Gerner” to GPS to ensure it takes you to the correct address.
