  • PBIS Tier 1 practices and systems establish a foundation of regular, proactive support while preventing unwanted behaviors. Colerain staff provide these universal supports to all students, school-wide.

  • PBIS Tier 2 practices and systems support students who are at risk for developing more serious problem behaviors before those behaviors start. These supports help students develop the skills they need to benefit from core programs at the school.

  • PBIS Tier 3 practices and systems support more intensive, individualized support to improve student's behavioral and academic outcomes. At this level, formal assessments (behavior function finder) are used to identify student’s needs.

Launching Your Middle Schooler to Success

This is a 7 part series of tips & tricks based on research and guidance from The Ohio State Family Engagement "Middle Ground" Program. As a parent of a 5th Grader, this information is extremely helpful and encouraging!

Part 2: Encourage a growth mindset

  • Has your middle schooler worked hard on a school assignment? Value effort over results.
  • Treat mistakes as an opportunity for learning. If everything is easy, there is no growth.
  • Encourage your middle schooler to solve problems on their own.

  • Destination #2 is the Columbus Museum of Art. More details here:
  • Just present "GREEN" Tickets when you arrive. Tickets were sent home in backpacks
