Principal's Message
On Monday, we had a lot of students and staff dress up and participate in our costume contest. The winners from each category received a gift card courtesy of the PTO and their pictures are shared below. On Tuesday, we hosted a group of students from Groveport who shadowed our students throughout the day. I had a lot of pride sharing our amazing students, staff, and building! On Wednesday, some of our 6th graders traveled to Ohio State University to work on team building and learn valuable lessons on leadership, community, and what makes an effective team. Today, our 8th grade social studies students gained a better understanding of life during the American Revolution thanks to a visit from Mr. David Groatenheiss, a Dublin resident and historical reenactor.
I wanted to recognize and thank our GMS staff for providing all of these opportunities for our students.
It looks like a beautiful weekend on the horizon!
Have a great weekend.
Andy

Grizzell 6th Grade Leaders
On Wednesday, our 6th grade leaders group met for the first time as part of a city-wide committee of students, representing students from 5 schools within the Columbus area. Students traveled to Ohio State University to work on team building and learn valuable lessons on leadership, community, and what makes an effective team. Our 20 leaders represented our Grizzell family with respect for others and their willingness to learn. We are so thankful to have such extraordinary students here at Grizzell!

Information about the AMP program: The goal of the AMP-4 program is to build capacity for first and second year building administrators to help them hone their skills, enhance their practices, redefine their roles and exercise effective leadership. The new administrator will work with a trained mentor to set clear, professional SMART goals based on the Ohio Principal Standards. Critical reflection and feedback with a mentor throughout the school year will help the building administrator through the OPES 2.0 process.

Halloween Costume Donation Drive October 17th - November 7th
We are Junior Girl Scout troop 6219, and we are collecting costumes for the Run The Race Organization and to earn our bronze award. We are doing this because the kids at the Run The Race Organization love Halloween, but some of their families can’t afford costumes for their kids, so we are collecting them for them. We will be collecting costumes from October 17th through November 7th.
The Run the Race Organization provides snacks, tutoring, homework help, sports, music, art,
tumbling, games, contests, parties, holiday celebrations, a library, gym, a full meal every day, food pantry and more to inner city kids.
There will be a donation box at Grizzell Middle School from October 17th- November 7th.
