BASED OFF OF: White Lilacs: The Movie is an adaptation of the novel White Lilacs by Carolyn Meyer, published in 1993.
White Lilacs is about a african-american girl named Rose Lee and her family whom work under the bells. Rose Lee and her family are slaves, whom live in a distinct town called Freeedomtown in the city of Dillion. However, Rose Lee hears news of Freedomtown possibly being destroyed, and the threats of the Ku Klux Klan draw near.
