GCISD Fine Arts Signing Day
The evening of Tuesday, May 3rd will be the official first GCISD Fine Arts Signing Day. This will be a combined event with all GCISD high schools. We are still working to secure an official location, so I will pass that information along when it becomes available.
Please note that this is applicable to all students who are receiving a scholarship to participate in their school's FINE ARTS program. They do not necessarily have to be majoring in a FINE ART!
Click here for the GCISD Fine Arts Signing Day Interest Form. Seniors, please fill this out by April 25th.
Solo Contest - Saturday, May 7th
Night of Drumming
Join us for the Night of Drumming concert entitled ‘Spectrum’! Tickets are now on sale – all information can be found at the following link:
Performances that night will feature all percussion students from HMS, CMS, CHHS, as well as their instructors, the CHHS Jazz Choir, and the CHHS Theater Tech team! Performances will include traditional and non-traditional percussion instruments, glow-in-the-dark drumming, and more!
GCISD Colorguard Showcase
More details to come, but remember, Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band underclassmen will perform at the Graduation Ceremony at the end of May. This is an assessment grade and has been discussed in class.
**Siblings of graduates can be excused to sit with their families, with prior communication, if they choose.**
**Concert Band members that would like to perform with the graduation band need to speak with Mrs. Eby ASAP. **
Concert Uniform Turn In
Seniors, you can now take your concert tuxedo or dress to the dry cleaner. Please turn your uniform in the dry cleaning wrapper with the receipt attached to Mrs. Eby, beginning on Monday, May 2.
Everyone else, you will turn your cleaned uniform in after graduation, the week of Band Camp 1.
Private Lesson Price
Beginning in July, the GCISD private lesson rate will increase to $25 per half-hour session. This is a good thing to help keep our talented studio teachers, and attract other talented musicians across the DFW area!
Senior Class Donations
Seniors! Do you have any old marching shoes, spirit shorts, spirit shirts, or other band equipment you’d be interested in donating? We are always in need of extras of everything!
Bring in your items, please!
