Cape's Mission & Vision
Vision: We believe that the most promising strategy for achieving the mission of Cape Elementary is to develop our capacity to function as a professional learning community.
Message from Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund
Dear Cape Families,
We hope this message finds you healthy and well. We are heading into the home stretch of the school year, and we are looking to finish strong – balancing hard work with celebrating our students’ successes. The changes this year have been challenging, but the students have shown their resilience and have persevered all year. Their positivity and excitement for learning brightens our days, and we are grateful for each one of them. Throughout the year, we have had many opportunities to see student achievement goals like fluency, AR, iReady, and math facts actively embraced by our students. We are so proud of their growth this year at Cape!
We look forward to seeing all of you on Zoom to celebrate our students at our annual Celebrations of Learning, end of year awards, on Tuesday, June 15 for Kindergarten to 4th grade. Please look for grade level times in this newsletter or on our website. The classroom teacher will send a Zoom link closer to the actual date.
While we look forward with excitement and anticipation to the upcoming school year, we look to our fifth grade class to remind us of the past and of all that has been learned and accomplished throughout their years in elementary school. Families are invited to the Fifth Grade Completion Ceremony via Zoom on Wednesday, June 16. Please look for times in this newsletter. The Zoom link will be sent out closer to the date.
We know this is a short summer, but we encourage you to enroll in Cape’s Expanded Learning which is only one and half hours of i-Ready a week - 45 minutes of reading and 45 minutes of math. This will help our Cape kids continue to learn and grow during the summer weeks. Students will be able to have a chromebook and also have access to Launchpad. We value your input and feedback. Please take a few minutes to complete this Cape family survey: Cape Family Survey 2021. You must be signed into Google to complete the Google Form.
Throughout the summer, please check our website and social media for information and
2021-22 updates. Our Meet the Teacher will be held on Thursday, August 5 and the first day of school is Tuesday, August 10. We will communicate times and safety protocols closer to the date.
We would like to extend best wishes for a safe, restful and replenishing summer vacation with your families. We look forward to seeing you in August.
Sincerely,
Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund
