FIELD DAY - JUNE 15TH

You know summer is in the air when field day is just around the corner! This year's field day is extra special because it is being planned, organized, and led by Mr. Brennan's 5th-grade students! This field day experience is a salmon life cycle-themed event that will nest perfectly with the place-based learning that has been happening in all our grade levels this year.

Mr. Brennan's students have an exciting field day experience planned out where CES classes will be taking their own "class salmon" through activities that simulate the salmon life cylce- with movement, coordination, teamwork, and lots of outdoor fun!

Please send your child to school with appropriate footwear and clothing to suit the day's weather conditions.

CLASS PLACEMENTS FOR 2022-2023

Our staff will be developing classroom assignments for the 2022-23 school year. Our goal is to place students into next year's classes that best suit each child's needs and ensure the best learning environment for all students. Each child's placement will be given great care as we strive to make the best student/teacher match possible. If you have specific concerns that you feel should be considered for your child's placement, please send an email to connie_barrows@csd49.org with the placement input form linked below by June 6. If you wish to discuss additional concerns with the principal, your child's current teacher, or our counselor, you may feel free to do so by leaving a message for them at 360-302-5855 and they will get back to you. Please remember we cannot guarantee that all preferences will be met as many factors must be considered.

We are looking forward to starting the 2022-23 school year in person! If you or someone you know wants to enroll in Chimacum Elementary for the 2022-23 school year, or you know you will be moving from our district, please call our office at 360-302-5855 and leave a message. This will allow us to make more accurate classroom assignments.

Sixth Grade Recognition

We are sad to see our current sixth graders leave us for 7th grade, but excited for this new milestone for them!

To celebrate our graduates, we are hosting a "graduation walk", where sixth graders walk past all the students, staff, and families while being cheered on and congratulated. Graduates end with a photo with their teachers, and a celebratory cupcake outside with their friends! The sixth-grade graduation walk is scheduled on the last day of school, June 17th at 10:00. Families are welcome to attend. Please look for more information about this event on Bloomz in coming weeks.
