RVHS Newsletter
Message From The Principal
We had a very busy, very fun and uplifting week this week!
ASB had a full string of SPIRIT DAYS and (as you can see from the pictures below) there was a lot of participation--even amongst the adults! Thanks to the ASB Students for organizing the Spirit Week and encouraging all of us to participate! It was a lot of fun!
On Thursday we had the opportunity for the parents to come and visit our Teachers during Back to School Night! It was a great opportunity for parents to meet the Teachers, see what the students are learning, and understand how Rancho Vista works. We had a very good turn-out and we appreciate all those who visited us!
As I mentioned during our opening session of Back to School Night, Rancho Vista is a great school--and one of the District's best kept secrets! Great Teachers, small overall student population, and an empathetic counseling & social work team are the big reasons why RVHS is such a great place to learn. And once again, our focus is all about helping students to achieve in the classroom, earn their diplomas, and connect them to a life-long skill that can help them in the job market once they graduate. We're glad you're daughters/sons are with us; and we're working with them and cheering them on so that they can be successful!
Have a great weekend!
David Schlottman, Principal

As you know, there's a new dress code. We felt that it's important enough to run several weeks in a row--so that's why you keep seeing this!!
If you'd like to read the whole dress code document, here it is!
This is from TVUSD Administrative Regulation 5132:
"Temecula Valley Unified School District believes that appropriate dress and grooming contribute to a productive learning environment. Student attire and grooming must permit the student to participate in learning without posing a risk to the health or safety of any student or school district personnel. The school district is responsible for seeing that student attire does not disrupt school activity or contribute to a hostile or intimidating atmosphere for any student.
1. Students must wear clothing including a shirt with pants or skirt, or the equivalent (for example dresses, leggings, or shorts) and shoes.
2. Clothing shall be sufficient to conceal undergarments and buttocks. No underwear, undergarments, or clothing that is comparable to undergarments (e.g. bathing suits that resemble the same coverage of an undergarment) may be visible at any time. Clothing may not be see-through or mesh if underwear is visible underneath.
3. Attire may not display images that are violent and/or depict drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcohol, or promote any unlawful act. Additionally, attire may not contain imagery, words or acronyms associated with hate speech, profanity, pornography, or any promotion and/or endorsement of violence, alcohol or drug use."
