Message From The Principal
There were lots of wins and accomplishments to celebrate throughout the Yellow Jacket Universe this week!
Sophomore Bella Hoffman made history last Saturday by becoming Fort Mill High School's first Girls State Wrestling Champion and was also declared wrestler of the tournament.
Later Saturday evening, we crowned our winners of the Miss Fort Mill High School pageant: Miss Freshman--Sarah Henriksen, Miss Sophomore--Ella Patel, Miss Junior--Blythe Barrington-Hughes, Miss Senior--Sophia Stransbery, and Miss FMHS--Rachel Miller.
Tuesday night the wrestling team secured the region title and the Boys Varsity & JV Girls basketball teams picked up exciting wins on the road against a region competitor: Nation Ford.
And it was announced earlier today that 6 artists--Brighid Biehl, Jovanni Camacho, Elise Dosch, Grant Martoccia, Riley Nissen, and Caroline Prain--were recognized at the Scholastic Art Region Competition for their outstanding achievement in their respective art mediums. They will go on to represent our school at the national level.
With all of this going on the morning announcements have been swarmed with shout-outs and good news, which is just one of the many reasons our school is such an amazing place. We are so very proud of our students and how they represent our school to the community, state, and nation.

Fort Mill High School Cares Fundraising Blitz
The news is out, Mr. Scroggs has put his hair on the line! If the school is able to raise $6,000 this coming Wednesday, February 5th, Mr. Scroggs will let a group of students shave his head in the commons during FLEX. That may sound like a lot but it is just about $3 per student. Parents and businesses are welcome to donate as well. All checks should be made payable to FMHS.
As a part of a new winter tradition--the FMHS Cares: Fundraising Blitz--our school supports worthwhile charities to demonstrate that we care about others. On the day of the blitz, 2nd block classes will collect money in a 1-day effort to support two great causes St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and the 2020 Polar Plunge benefiting local Special Olympics.
As a smaller incentive than shaving the principal's head, if we raise $2,000 members of the administration will be taped to the flag poles during student dismissal later that week.
So please consider donating to the FMHS Cares Fundraising Blitz to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Special Olympics.
Dual Credit Night
Our school is pleased to announce the addition of several new dual credit classes beginning next year (2020-2021). Students enrolled in dual credit courses receive both high school credits and college credits from the articulating university partner: University of South Carolina-Lancaster (USCL).
The new offerings include Criminal Justice/Sociology, French, Spanish, and Theatre. These courses will be offered on our campus and taught by our teachers. Students can sign up to request these classes through the counseling office. We will hold an informational Dual Credit Night for interested parents and students on Thursday, February 6th at 6:30 pm in F112.
Dual credit courses will be taught in one semester with students receiving 3 hours of college credit and 1 high school credit per course. Each college course will last 8 weeks with students taking 2 per semester. A USCL placement exam is necessary for approval to take French and Spanish courses.
