Fall 2021 Grizzell Athletics Information
Since the Grizzell MS Athletics coaching staff has limited ability to meet with 7th & 8th grade students to discuss the upcoming season, this email has been created to "sign up" your child for GMS Fall sports. Here are the steps to the REGISTRATION PROCESS:
1. FINAL FORMS -- starting now, be sure to create a Final Forms account at https://dublin-oh.finalforms.com. Both the parent & student-athlete must create a Final Forms account AND sign all necessary forms for the Fall. IF YOU HAVE AN EXISTING ACCOUNT @ SMS (i.e. existing 7th grade SMS student-athlete), the district will switch you from SMS to GMS between 5/21 - 6/1. Otherwise, new accounts need to be created and all forms need to be signed by 8/2/2021.
When completing forms on Final Forms, please make sure you specify the sports your child plans on trying out for/playing in 2021-2022. If your child plans on trying out for a cut sport, you can sign up for that sport AND a non-cut sport (as a backup plan). This will insure you are on the coaches' email group. Coaches will contact all those who sign up during the Summer to inform you of any details regarding practice/tryouts.
2. OHSAA Physical -- Schedule a physical exam w/ your family physician. Have the doctor complete the required OHSAA physical form (found on the Athletics page under the "Registration" link. These are valid for ONE calendar year and can be submitted to Head Athletic Trainer Maddie Legerski by 8/2/2021. All physical forms of those who attended SMS will be transferred to GMS over the Summer.
3. DCS Covid Waiver -- this form can be found under "Forms & Links" and needs to be printed, signed, and turned in to the Head Coach on the first day your team begins activity.
4. WAIT -- After you complete all of the above, the coaches will send informational emails over the Summer with the practice/tryout schedules and reminders.
614 Our Future organization
My name is Halle Tebbe and I am a current junior at Dublin Coffman High School. I wanted to reach out as I recently launched a community-based environmental organization for teens in and around the Dublin area known as 614 Our Future. My main vision for this organization is to uplift students' voices like my own to make Dublin a greener, more sustainable place for all. This will be done through internal group efforts, whether that be hosting litter pick-up events or reaching out to local businesses to encourage more sustainable practices (i.e. biodegradable takeout containers for local restaurants) to collaborating with other environmental organizations within the schools and within the community to working with City Council and encouraging and aiding the community in doing their part. While this list is long, it is not everything I intend to do with the organization as I really want anyone who joins to help in deciding the trajectory.
As for who can join, absolutely anyone can! There will be no dues or money collected ever as I want it to be accessible for all. If students are interested in joining, they may click on the following link: https://linktr.ee/614ourfuture. This link will take them to a page that has 614 Our Future's Instagram if that is something they would be interested in following as well as the email they can use to reach out with any questions and/or comments at any point. More importantly, the box that says "Interest Form" will take them to a Google Form they can fill out with their school email to join the Group Me group chat for the organization as well as share any ideas they might have!
Overall, this is a really great opportunity for students to get involved in their community, particularly if they love the environment, as well as an opportunity to get to know their peers at the other middle schools and high schools!

2021/2022 Grizzell School Supplies!!!
Parents of current and future Grizzell Middle School families,
As we finish up this school year, now is a good time to start thinking about getting ready for next school year before you get caught up in all your fun summer activities.
We all know how stressful the first day of school can be. As your principal, I want to eliminate any fear, anxiety, and doubt that comes with starting a new school year.
Something you can control is giving your child the exact supplies next year's teachers have requested from their school supply lists. This is a great way for your child to start the school year with confidence and it will help our teachers tremendously.
This is Grizzell Middle School's largest PTO fundraiser of the year and the money raised goes directly back to the school to provide for both students and teachers. It funds activities such as teacher grants, conference dinners for the teachers, the 8th grade ceremony, and many other student activities that are not funded through the district.
You are welcome to shop for your own supplies with the list we provide on the school website, but I have found that to be time-consuming and a hassle. This service is provided as a convenience for families that do not want to purchase individual supplies on their own. All you have to do is click the link below to purchase supplies for next year. The order deadline is July 1st 2021.

Summer Reading
All students should be hearing about the district’s summer reading expectations from their language arts teachers before the end of the school year. Please read the file that corresponds to the grade your child will be entering in Fall 2021 for the book options and the assignment.
Middle school students will also have a chance to join an optional book club surrounding their summer reading book choice. This is not required, but will be a great place for students to discuss the book to keep it fresh in their minds for when school starts in the fall. There will be an optional Schoology course for rising 7th and 8th graders, and optional in-person summer meetups will be shared through this course.
If you are interested in having your child participate, please have your child join the appropriate course using the Schoology access codes:
Incoming 7th graders: ZQMZ-4M5B-JSDKW
Incoming 8th graders: X6B8-9RZG-4SPMB
Incoming 6th graders can find out information about optional in-person summer meetups on this page as they are planned.
