All cellular phones must be powered down or on silent mode inside the backpack. The student may turn on the phone after school to communicate quickly with family.
Students are NOT allowed to use their phones during instructional time. We need our HORNETS to focus on learning, not social media. Your child’s phone will be confiscated when found using it during school hours. In the first phone incident, the cell phone is returned to the students after school. The second time a phone is confiscated, it will be given to the parent/guardian. Please talk to your student, so we avoid bothering you to come to pick up the phone.
Please ensure your student is wearing the appropriate uniform colors. Students are not allowed to be carrying sweatpants on their arms. Sweatpants must be in the PE locker room or inside the backpack.
Attentively,
Mrs. Melgoza-Vasquez, Principal

California Summative ELPAC Test for all English Learners
Dear EO Green families,
The California Summative ELPAC season is upon us. All English Learners in the state of California are mandated to take the Summative ELPAC once a year. This assessment is used for multiple purposes, it is used to monitor progress, as the #1 criterion for reclassification, to ensure that EL students are gaining access to all core subjects, and to measure the district's effectiveness in supporting this special population.
The ELPAC consists of four rigorous assessments that measure language proficiencies in all domains: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The assessments are integrated, including grade-level texts of literature, non-fiction, history, science, and mathematical references.
At EO Green, testing administration will begin on 02/06/2023 and continue through the end of March. Most ELPAC tests will be given during the students' scheduled ELD classes or periods. Completing ELPAC testing for our school takes a community effort, a special thank you to each of our ELD teachers, and to our team of EL paraeducators. Our goal is to complete all testing by 03/31/2023.
We appreciate your support, in making attendance a priority, and ensuring your student is well-rested and ready for school every day. Thank you!
Respectfully,
Jennifer Tapia

Message From The Health Office:
The health office is a busy place. We have seen an increase in students coming to the health office that appear to be using the COVID protocols as a way to get out of class. Please talk with your student about not coming to the health office unless they are genuinely not feeling well. Also, COVID is still present and we are following the current Ventura County Public Health guidelines so please have a plan for who can pick up your student in case your student is sent home sick. Any COVID symptoms still require a negative COVID test result for the student to return to school. We want students in class as much as possible while looking out for your students' health and safety. Thank you for your help.
