ARCADE MIDDLE SCHOOL - WEEK OF FEBRUARY 5TH, 2023
Parking Loop Updates
While our new loop may take a few extra minutes as we all learn the new procedures, please continue using the loop for pick-up and drop-off. We have unfortunately noticed some families picking up their children across the street (either in the business parking lot or on the street) or in front of campus. All of these practices add to the traffic congestion for our families exiting and entering our loop and encourage students to ignore the measures we've taken to ensure their safety. For example, students who are picked up across the street are now crossing Edison, where cars are driving much faster than in our parking loop, and many students are crossing the street without using a crosswalk.
Thank you for helping keep our campus and paths of travel safe for students traveling to and from campus!

2022-2023 SAN JUAN UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT PARENT/FAMILY CLIMATE SURVEY
The 2022-2023 San Juan Unified climate survey is now available to students and families.
Your students took the survey on Thursday in their history classes, and they were sent home with a hard copy for you in your home language. Your student may return the hard copy of the survey to the front office by Friday, February 10th.
If you prefer, you may also take the parent survey by visiting www.sanjuan.edu/parentsurvey.
Arcade staff examines the information we get from the student and parent climate surveys to help us make decisions on campus, including how we allocate funds. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this important feedback.

PLEASE NOTE:
Information on Early Dismissals from School
Please avoid picking your student up early from school. It is important that students are only pulled from class when absolutely necessary, so they do not miss valuable instruction.
At Arcade, we receive a lot of early dismissal requests in the last 15 minutes of school, which is very disruptive to individual classrooms and the office. Please do not arrange for an early dismissal within the last 15 minutes of school.
If you must make an early dismissal request during lunch, please allot extra time, as it is very difficult to locate students at lunch. We are unable to make an all-call because other classes are still in session during both lunches. If it is absolutely necessary to pull your student out of school early during the lunch period, please CALL AHEAD so that we can notify your student before lunch, so it won't take as long to find your student.
