Knights News !!!!
October 2 - 6
Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that October is already here! With another beautiful week of weather, many classes have been taking the opportunity to spend additional time outside for DPA, reading, science, pickleball, gardening and other learning. Our cross country team continues to train for the upcoming meet on October 12th. It is great to see their strength and stamina improve every practice. Go Knights go!
Our first school council meeting took place this week on October 2nd. It was well attended and voting was completed. Congratulations to this year's exec; Kristi Marucci (chair), and Stephanie Black (Secretary). Katie Murrell (Treasurer), Christine Roy (Fundraising Coordinator), Holly Kenny (Kinder/Primary Representative) & Stephanie Irwin (Junior/Intermediate Representative). Please see their more detailed bios below. Babysitting is available during SAC meeting times. If there are any older students who have completed the babysitting course and would like the opportunity to babysit at an upcoming meeting, please let the school or one of the council members know.
This week will bring our school open house, Terry Fox Run, and the beginning of hot lunch delivery. Practicum students from Queens Faculty of Education will start a three week placement on Monday in some classes. We welcome their energy, enthusiasm, and creativity.
Open House – Thursday, October 5th from 5:00-6:00. This is an opportunity for parents to drop in to the school to see the classroom and meet the teacher. It is not intended as a parent teacher conference. If parents wish an opportunity to discuss their child’s progress, they should contact the teacher to arrange a time to meet on a different day. The Lion's club will be partnering with our Grade 8s to cook and sell hot dogs ($2), drinks ($1) and chips ($1) as a fundraiser for their spring Graduation. To give them an idea of how much food to buy. Please complete this quick form to let us know how many hot dogs, drinks and chips your family intends to purchase: https://forms.gle/EJxgzTc1m5w7LNft7
Sales will be CASH ONLY
The Terry Fox run is scheduled for October 6th; however, we will keep our eye on the weather. If Friday looks rainy, we may move the Terry Fox Walk ahead by a day to Thursday. Our fingers are crossed for sunny skies! Students have already raised a ton, both in-person and online, and the donations keep coming in! The link for virtual donations can be found below. Classes will be doing ‘kick off’ activities between now and the 6th.
Please return Data Verifications and Medical forms ASAP so that we have accurate information on file. Feel free to contact the office if you have any questions or concerns.
October: Islamic Heritage Month, Learning Disabilities Awareness Month, Hispanic-Latin America Heritage Month! Last week all classes participated in rich discussions and learning around Orange shirt day. The day and week was thoughtful, engaging and meaningful.
Looking forward to another great week ahead!
Sincerely,
Jean Paquin, Principal & Mistene Clapp, Vice Principal
Ms. Benest
My name is Ms. Katy Benest, and I will be teaching your music first term and dance second term. During my time with the Limestone District School Board, I have had the privilege of serving as a teacher in a specialized mental health program partnered with the Maltby Centre, a classroom teacher, and a remedial literacy instructor.
This month we will be learning and reviewing the names of music notes, what a beat and rhythm is and creating music using our music knowledge.
I look forward to supporting your child in finding their joy in music and dance.
104.3 Fresh Radio, 96.3 BIG FM and SOCKS Kingston, need our help. Socktober is HERE, and we want to make this Socktober the most successful one to date!
Every month more than 800,000 Canadians rely on Food banks, and SOCKS are one of the most needed and least donated items to these facilities. SOCKS are more than an article of clothing to those who have so little. They offer warmth, health, a symbol that someone is looking out for them, ownership, and pride. SOCKS make the forgotten poor feel wanted and loved again.
This year our Colour House teams will challenge each other to see which Colour House can bring in the most socks for those in need.
Let’s make this the best SOCKTOBER yet! All new socks collected in the Kingston area, stay in the Kingston area and support multiple agencies.
Go Knights Go! Let's start bringing in those socks!
Terry Fox Run/Walk
Our school will be participating in the 43rd annual Terry Fox walk on Friday, October 6th, 2023 at 2:00pm.

We greatly appreciate anything you have to offer! Thank you in advance for your kind consideration for this very worthwhile cause. Donations can be mailed to Bath Public School, 247 Church St., Bath ON, K0H 1G0 or contact us regarding pick up of the donation. School Trips and Volunteers
Throughout the year, we may ask for parent/guardian volunteers on school trips or for various classroom and school activities. The wait time for obtaining a CPIC (background check with vulnerable sector screening) can be lengthy. As such, if you think you would be willing to assist with a trip or school event in the future, please consider obtaining a CPIC with vulnerable sector screening completed, beforehand.
Bath School Advisory Council
Our fabulous parent council is looking for new members! If you would like to be a part of this great team, please come to our next meeting on Tuesday October 17th at 6:30pm.
