Girls Basketball Feeds St. Charles Area Homeless

Activities, Clubs and Sports at Francis Howell High School continue to make their mark on our local community. All programs at Howell are actively involved in giving back to the community and gaining the great benefits that come from outreach and service. Being part of a Howell program is much more than just participating in that activity, club or sport. Last weekend the girls basketball program got involved in helping feed St. Charles area homeless as part of the "Sharing Meals" program. The Sharing Meals program was started in 2009 to help feed St. Charles area homeless. Thank you to our girl's basketball program for getting involved to help area residents in need.

Six Howell Wrestlers Pass The 100 Win Mark

One of the major benchmarks that high school wrestlers try to reach is the 100 win mark. Reaching 100 wins in wrestling is the equivalent of reaching 1000 points in basketball. This year the Howell wrestling program has six wrestlers that have earned 100 wins. Dylan Komperda (SR), Ty Purler (SR), Tyler Kreith (SR), Tyler McGhee (SR), Antonio Jenkins-Harris (SR), and Jack Flynn (JR). Congratulations to these young men for reaching a major milestone in their careers and in representing Howell so well.

Howell Choir Continues To Achieve High Levels Of Success

The Missouri Music Educators Association hosts the MO All-State Honor Choir each year in conjunction with the MMEA conference where Educators from all over the state come to receive professional development. The conference is held at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Lake of the Ozarks. Madi Jackson was a representative from Howell who was selected through audition to participate in this highly acclaimed ensemble. The students rehearsed for four days and their work culminated in a performance for music directors and families of the students. The 16 students from St. Louis Metro 8 district combine with students all over the state to make up the honor choir of 200 voices. They work with a world renowned clinician on musical technique, musical style, connecting to the text of the music and so much more over this 3 day period. It is an incredible opportunity that many singers aspire to but only few get the honor to experience. Congratulations to Madi Jackson for representing FHHS and our choir program for their efforts!
