I faced opposition once, it was over presidents' weekend in February when I went through the explorers academy ( explorers is a program where teens train to learn to be police). When we started, I was not as conditioned as everyone else and fell behind. Most in my platoon wanted me to quit, even I thought I should myself, but I refused to do it, and powered through the five day academy. I held a grudge for the longest time against those who doubted me, but I now am not in the program due to time and schedule conflicts, and have let those grudges go.
