Description:
Our focus of the evening is your child’s transition into high school and, more specifically, the 9th grade experience. This includes introductions to the many exciting opportunities that await your child at LHS, preparing for upcoming high school scheduling meetings, and beginning to build a relationship with your child’s high school counselor. Throughout the evening, you will rotate through four sessions, including meeting your child’s high school counselor, presentations from our content area supervisors, a session focusing on the 9th grade experience, and a gallery walk exhibit of our elective offerings.

Description:
In an effort to provide a smooth transition from Heritage Middle School to Livingston High School, an in-person informational meeting will be held for parents of current eighth grade students who receive Special Education services. Members of the Livingston High School Child Study Team (CST), Mrs. Krystie Loeuis, Transition Coordinator, and Ms. Shante Middleton, Director of Secondary Special Education, will address expectations and supports that are available in addition to answering preliminary questions regarding transitions scheduling.

PRIDE Parent Workshop: Teaching Math Skills Through Fun, Everyday Activities

Description:
Developing a basic understanding of numbers is fundamental in mathematics. This can be taught by number concept activities such as; one-to-one correspondence (counting each object only once), cardinality (the last object counted is the total), invariance (the number of objects stays the same in any configuration (i.e.in a line or in a circle). Come learn with us!

Grounding Parents: The Benefits of Mindfulness and Self-Care

"Grounding Parents: The Benefits of Mindfulness & Self-Care" will be presented to LPS parents by Clinicians from Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ on Monday, January 22nd at 7PM. This workshop will focus on supporting parents' need to regulate their own emotions and thoughts in order to support their children, effective communication for parents to their children i.e. listening for understanding, and managing your own plate as a parent in order to assist your children in doing the same. This program will be held virtually and a link will be shared out closer to the program date. We hope that you join us for this important program!

Science Pathways

Description:
The LPS Science Department will host its annual Science Pathways Night on Wednesday, January 24th at 6:30PM in the LHS auditorium. This event is open to all students in 8th - 11th grades and their parents. The program will include a brief overview of the science graduation requirements and the four pathways offered at LHS - Science Research, Health Science, Biotechnology, and Sustainability Science. Parents will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions and meet the teachers in these pathways and see the classrooms in which their children could be working.
