MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Walkersville Community,
It was another great week as continue the countdown to the end of 2022! Our athletic teams continue to do well, and we had a great Evening with the Arts on Tuesday, which included the National Art Honor Society Induction of 8 new students. In testing news, the MCAP testing schedule changes are over for the time being, so it will be a regular schedule for next week. We are excited to have our Staff vs Student volleyball games during FLEX next week. The 9th & 11th graders will take on the staff team on Wednesday, with the 10th & 12th graders playing on Thursday. Our Culture & Climate committee is sponsoring the event, and I thank all of those who volunteered to help make this a fun event for our school.
Enjoy this last weekend of preparation before winter break and the holidays!
Dr. Stephanie Ware
Principal

WRESTLING NEWS
SSGT Cartwright was a 2001 graduate of WHS and a Captain of the wrestling team. He was killed November 7, 2009 serving during Operation Enduring Freedom.
We started and named our tournament after SSGT Cartwright to honor his memory and to ensure his sacrifice for our nation is not forgotten.
The event will be a team “dual meet” style wrestling tournament.
We are reaching out to see if any local businesses would be able to help sponsor the tournament via donation to help offset the cost running the event. We are also looking to see if any local restaurants could sponsor one of the meals for the visiting coaches and wrestling officials.
Anything you can do would be truly appreciated. If you can help, please contact me at:
Andre.jackson@FCPS.ORG
Thank you for your consideration,
Coach Andre Jackson
