Students and Digital Footprints
What is a Digital Footprint, and how does it affect you?
What is a Digital Footprint?
On the Internet a digital footprint is the word used to describe the trail, traces or "footprints" that people leave online. This is information transmitted online, such as forum registration, e-mails and attachments, uploading videos or digital images and any other form of transmission of information — all of which leaves traces of personal information about yourself available to others online.

How to make a positive footprint
First, you need to know what your footprint is. What pictures of you are out there? Are there any links to you or stories? Does the school post your picture on the internet? You must be conscious of all these factors. These are ways that people can find you and know who you are. By making a positive footprint others will have a better sense of who you are.
