What's Happening...
It has been another busy week at THS. We have all been getting into the holiday spirit; Wednesday, our theater students caroled at Barnes and Noble. Thursday morning started by the THS/TMS band who welcomed students and faculty playing holiday music, and NHS members continued their help with the Adopt-A-Family program by organizing the food and coin drive! School counselors met with students who took the PSAT and helped them access and interpret their test scores. In addition, each student was shown how to link their College Board account to Khan Academy in order to receive FREE SAT preparation. On Friday, 45 students are traveling to New York City with Mr. Raras. Students will be sightseeing, experiencing the culture of NYC and going to see the broadway show, Chicago. In addition, we have another group of students traveling home from Give Kids The World Village after volunteering all of last week.
The School Counseling website has newly added features. Check out the resources section for the "Tutor List" link, a list of local tutors and their specialties, as well as "Community Job Board" for job opportunities for our students.

School Counseling
Congratulations to the seniors who have submitted their college applications! Seniors should schedule an appointment to meet with their school counselor to discuss their future plans if they have not already done so.
Senior Parents/Guardians:
Updated transcripts with Trimester 1 grades have been submitted for seniors who have submitted their college applications.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application is now available to complete. This application can be found at fafsa.gov. The FAFSA is the most important application in the financial aid process. All colleges and universities will require the FAFSA before determining a financial aid award. Colleges may also require students to complete a CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE (profileonline.collegeboard.org) and/or a college specific financial aid application. It is important to be aware of each college's financial aid deadlines - missing deadlines could result in missing out on financial aid. For more information on the financial aid process please visit mefa.org.
FAFSA Day Massachusetts is a non-profit, volunteer driven program providing free assistance to students and families seeking to complete the FAFSA. These events will be taking place in high schools, colleges, and libraries across the Commonwealth and will provide one-on-one, step-by-step assistance for families completing the FAFSA. Please visit FAFSADay.org or email fafsaday@gmail.com for more information.
