Watch D.O.G.S. Kickoff Event
WATCH D.O.G.S. is a one-of-a-kind, school-based father involvement program that works to support education and safety. Our kickoff is Thursday, September 29th, at 6:30 in the Newman cafeteria. Join us for pizza and a short informational presentation. Please remember you must submit a background check and it must be processed before you will be able to volunteer as a WatchDOG.
CogAT Testing 5th Grade
During the mornings of October 4-6, all fifth graders will take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). Please schedule morning appointments on days other than CogAT testing. The CogAT gives teachers and parents a snapshot of students’ higher level thinking, reasoning, and problem solving abilities (verbal, nonverbal, quantitative, and overall ability), as compared with fifth graders in the nation. Please be sure your awesome fifth grader has a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast on these days. Please encourage your child with a hug, a reminder to listen carefully the first time, and to do their “Personal Best” on the test. For more information, please visit www.riversidepublishing.com.
5th Grade Yearbook Design
Fifth grade Parents,
If your child is participating in the Yearbook design, please remind them that these are due Friday, Sept. 30th to Mrs. Coffey.
