Attention Car Riders!
- Students should enter and exit the vehicle from the sidewalk side.
- When pulling in to park, park on the school side. This keeps the students from walking across traffic to reach the parking spots on the opposite side.
- Please keep in mind that the unloading and loading of students can be a tricky and dangerous time. We ask that everyone use caution when traveling through our parking lots, especially when judging your speed.

What Apps are on Your Student's Phone?
I am always impressed by how quickly our students are able to pick up new technology! As adults, it can be nerve raking staying up-to-date on all of the newest apps our young people are using. Here is a short article about the most common apps students are using and their descriptions.

Get Walk'IN
Meranda Cooper with Purdue Extension (4-H) has a new fitness program she would like to share with the community. Please see her information below.
Get Walk’IN It’s a great program for the fall months and here’s why:
- Registration is free and easy (see attached PDF).
- Works with your personal schedule – no need to attend classes on specific dates and times.
- E-mail based communication and reminders (includes motivation and information on the benefits of implementing physical activity or maintaining it).
- 3 month walking initiative leading up to the holiday season when most of us are indoors more and 3 simple surveys - to be completed before, immediately after, and 3 months after the program (surveys take 10-15 minutes).
- Family-friendly! Ask your family, kids, neighbors, friends, and/or coworkers to join you! (Registrants need to be 18 and older, but are more than welcome to invite younger individuals to join them when walking)
Lack of physical activity is directly related to the occurrence of adult obesity and overweight. Regular physical activity can lower risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, depression, and falls in older adults. More reasons to join Get Walk’IN!
Feel free to share this information with your family, friends, and work colleagues. I appreciate your assistance in promoting this healthy living initiative through Purdue Extension Tipton County Health & Human Sciences. Registration for this program is done by contacting me by phone (765) 675-1177 or e-mail, coopermr@purdue.edu. I can’t wait to add you to the list!
